I won't be able to watch the match as I'll be working in a field on a farm in deepest Powys. Probably won't even have phone signal there. At least I won't have to live the misery of the game if it goes to form.
I am hoping it is the Chelsea pensioners we are playing so we can keep the score respectable and we do only lose 2-0...
It doesn't matter who we play, as we are coming back from an international break, and our overgrown pansies always lose after such, so let's hope we can gain some pride by keeping the scoreline respectable, and I hope that gobby Taylor doesn't get a look in, sick of reading his sound bites on Wales online. .......
Think we're in for a world of trouble on Sunday and I can't see anything but a big loss for us. Then again, the Swans always pull out a few surprises during a season. Maybe this will be it.
What will be will be as there is nothing we can do apart from airing our opinions....We have to wait and see how long the club takes to make changes if things dont improve.......The longer it takes though the worst it could get....
Dai! It's disappointing that our record signing isn't fit to play yet. I haven't got all my hopes on him although I do have high expectations of him. Also it's not the manager I have lost confidence in, its the club in general. I think we've lost our identify on the pitch and off it. Guidolin has a good record and experience but has been given a real tough task with massive changes around him. I know the football isn't good ATM but it's better than what I witnessed last season under Monk that's for sure. I think you need to give this season a chance because no one knows how it's going to pan out. Our survival isn't going to rest on beating the champions away or a clubs like Chelsea.
Monk got us playing good football and he got us to our highest ever finish so that's nonsense so to say we play better under Guildo is farcical really isn't it.....I agree the club has lost its way and that was before the yanks took over and the main reason why monk wanted to leave........Guildo is producing the worst style of football i have ever seen and even our top players like Gylfi cant produce anything with it.......It makes you think that Guildo is the main reason ash left as he was all set to end his playing days with us......Players do talk to one another and i bet both Allen and Bony were were put off on joining us because of the way we are heading with no ambition and a chairman who has lost the plot.......our only hope is the yanks will do something and soon....
Looking for a good game Sunday and that's it. Not looking for points though as, regardless of how poorly we've played, Chelsea are a far better side than they were last season. The press is too busy with their love interest in this seasons soap opera, Morinio Guadiola, to notice this imo as they are too busy making up easy headlines. But they are missing the obvious, Chelsea, this season is the only team capable of beating both the Menchesters both home and away and Conte is a match for both managers. We play them Sunday, hence my looking for performance over points. If we get anything I'll be ecstatic but all want at this point is to be able to recognize what it is we are trying to do on the pitch. I think I know what that is, we are reverting back to our old Martinez style, where we stretched the pitch as wide as possible and used its width to 'thin' the defense and attack from the flanks, bombarding the oppositions area with runners and crosses to try to overload the area, much like Man U do now. I'd be happy to see us improving in this new style so we can begin to at least recognize our tactics. I'd be happy with that. So, Taylor's issued Guidolin with a veiled ultimatum. He said he'd rather play in other competitions than sit on the bench, translates as 'if you don't play me I wont sit on the bench'. I hope Guidolin has laid down the law to him and told him that if he wants to play then he has to EARN his place back and to do that he has to become better than Kingsley. I remember him bleating when Ben was here, saying that if he didn't play then he would have to move clubs. Well, Fekk off then I say, Kingsley is the better player and the better prospect imo and so Taylor should be prepared to fight for his place instead of whinging. If I was Kingsley I'd knock him out in training, Taylor is showing the lad no respect at all.
Have you not watched the first 3 games, we have been pathetic at least with Monk we got off to a start before it went rapidly down hill from there. This year we have started at the bottom of the hill and still managing to go down it. Guidolin has no idea, he is simply not the man for the job, we look like a Sunday league side, with no game plan other than defend and kick it as far as we can up the other end, there is no leadership on or off the field. If we continue with him we will be so far off 17th place come October we will be all but down. I really hope he proves me wrong, but with the squad we have and his negative attitude I can see nothing but relegation at the moment, by the way I didn't want Monk as manager either.
I agree with this ^^^^ at least to some extent. The stats prove we are getting quite a few chances this season but we still seem rather impotent up front and whereas I agree that Barrow and Monty are creating those chances they simply aren't being buried and teams only have limited chances at this level. Let's see if Baston is the man we hope he is. However, I keep coming back to my main concern - our CB pairing. Very worrying from what I've seen so far.
Well we wont be seeing Baston on Sunday is it right that he is still not fit and maybe on the bench at best. Amat and Fernandez will get torn new ones against Chelsea, just cant see them dealing with Costa, I just hope he freaks out and ends up getting himself sent off. I am also hoping that they leave Routledge and Fer out on Sunday, both have been very poor up to now, I know Fer has 2 goals, but he looks overweight, unfit and totally disinterested as for Routledge I think he left his form in pre-season. I can honestly say for that for the first time I am not looking forward to going Sunday.
You do realise that Siggy's form dramatically improved in the second half of last season when Monk left?? (and Shelvey). The problem with Siggy is that he missed all of pre season but I expect him to be fully match fit come the weekend. All I'm saying is that I'm giving Guidolin a chance because he did exceed expectations last season. (Points wise) It's only 3 games into the season and no one can predict how any of the bottom 10 clubs will do. Give it 10 games and if things don't improve then contemplate replacing Guidolin. But you can't solely blame Guidolin for our problems as they run deeper than just issues on the pitch.
