We're a few games into the season and the transfer window's slammed shut so it should be easy to predict finishing positions. So, all you need to do now is to predict finishing positions to win a bottle of gin. Simple. How hard can that be? I'll commit to keeping track and publishing the results provided entries are made exactly as suggested below. What you need to do is to take the list below, cut it and paste it into a post, then after the comma, put in the finishing position you expect. So if you expect Burnley to win with Bournemouth second and Arsenal ninth, your first three in the list would be: Arsenal,9 Bournemouth,2 Burnley,1 .... Please leave the teams in the order they are in the list. You need to have a finishing position for all teams, all unique (so no equal 16ths or whatever). Sorry if this sounds a bit prescriptive; it's so I can keep track. Scoring: For every place your estimate is away from actual finishing position, you score a point. To encourage realistic estimates for Saints, each place you're wrong will count THREE points. The winner will be the person with the fewest points. In the event of a tie at that point, I’ll look just at the score for the top half of the table. If there’s still a tie I’ll work back through the top nine, then eight, etc, until someone wins or I get bored and send two bottles out. Final table will be the one on the BBC website. Arsenal, Bournemouth, Burnley, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Everton, Hull, Leicester, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Middlesbrough, Southampton, Stoke, Sunderland, Swansea, Tottenham Hotspur, Watford, West Brom, West Ham, To make it interesting and to encourage effort, I'm donating a bottle of Cork Dry Gin (possibly the finest gin ever to be caressed into life) for the winner. I'll post it within the UK as necessary. The entry fee? If you enter, please drop a (minimum) couple of quid into the charity box of your choice the next time you're out shopping. I trust you. Entries by 8pm on Friday 16th September, please. Vin

Of course you'll have to send my bottle of gin to my daughters address so I 'll never see any of that! and I'm sure you'll remind us next May who won! actually there are a few on here who will probably be sweating all year for the result

I think you deserve to win just for the amount of effort you've expended. I note that between your first effort and the one you've actually entered, Saints have slipped from tenth to thirteenth. Gin depression kicking in? Vin
