...especially for those of a ´bring in a wealthy benefactor´persuasion, and those supporters who are all for, ´fan power´. http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter...-a-change-in-ownership-is-not-about-to-happen
I saw that earlier and was going to post it but changed my mind because KIO would know only too well who it was aimed at! It makes a lot of sense though, mind you, I've never been too bothered about a Tan!
It implies we all think Norwich should be playing Champions league like Leicester. This is not my view but I believe we should have strengthened adequately before last season and If we don't beat Cardiff and Wigan I will be deeply concerned about Alex Neil . I would rather Delia stays and I would rather they gave the manager enough support financially at the right time . If we fail to score enough goals questions will be asked of the owners whether enough was done to secure a player that could, and is good enough to get us back up.
It's the same old, same old. Yes some benefactors are bad, some are good. Find me a Citeh supporter who isn't happy to be seeing some of the best players in the world, winning major trophies, European adventures. I do think the protests are a little pathetic. If you couldn't enjoy these last 6 seasons then you probably should be off glory hunting. That is not to say that we all shouldn't be a bit frustraited by our failures to take very real oportunities to consolidate in the PL. The board should be congratulated for their successes of debt reduction, promotions and stability. They also need to learn from and acknowledge their failures and this is where they are failing in many peoples books including mine. I am greatful to have decent owners, they are certainly better or at least luckier than many. But they have failed again in another transfer window. I hope we also don't get to find out if they will persist too long with a manager out of his depth. AN is far from a write off yet, but he is certainly using up the goodwill the promotion got him. Bah!
I just want us to be able to compete in the PL and have the odds in our favour that 16th or higher can be achieved on a consistent basis.
Given that Delia has been reimbursed for her generous loan by the huge Sky revenues received then we are basically playing with the Premier league money. We are still a quality centre back and striker missing . Expecting Bassong and Martin to keep us up last year was hopeful at best and expecting Cam and Nelson to score enough to take us back up is also a big ask . Sensible strengthening with the money generated by Sky without outside investment is all I ask for and our board has sold us short in my opinion.
I had to count to ten before replying to this piece of total garbage! If you both think Delia has been refunded by the Sky money then you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. The club owe Delia something in excess of £12M which she only wants back if somebody she approves of decides to buy the club, otherwise she is quite happy to leave things as they are!
I had to count to 1 to to try and explain that we have trousered over £300m so she could very easily take her £12m back now.
From the 2013 financial report: Non-external debt: £2.1m to directors Delia Smith, Michael Wynn-Jones and Michael Foulger, due to be eradicated in this financial year. This debt is interest free The 2015 report shows we haven't paid those debts off (thanks to relegation), but that they remain interest free and can be called in by directors when they want to.
WOW! You can count up to 1? I had no idea you were so clever! So the day to day running of the club, staff wages, police costs etc. ad nauseum all come free of charge do they?
You'd a good post on the MFW thread as well General and I would rather Delia and co stayed in control than we end up with a Tan or whoever who would want to change the name of our club etc, etc. I would love to see AN abandon his 'do not lose policy' and give the fans the 'attacking football' we were led to believe would happen this season, I'd far rather see us lose 4-3 than watch some of the dross that we have been served up this season.
Delia can take her interest free loan back anytime she is no longer keeping us afloat. You don't seem to be able to grasp this Dave .
Dave with the greatest respect you simply cannot keep defending the indefensible. That woman and this board are holding this club back now and it really is time for her to relinquish power. The interview that Moxey gave was unbelievable considering he had just taken up his post and then failed to back the manager in the transfer window. The bollocks he came out with about having to sell first beggars ****ing belief, we're one of the wealthiest clubs in the division. If you had listened to the Scrimmage tonight you would have heard Rob Butler, Iwan Roberts et al agreeing with me.
So it's true, you want a billionaire owner of our club no matter what. If it happens and we go the way of Pompey, Blackburn, Leeds, QPR you realise the whole of the sensible posters will be after your blood!
So will you be attending the protest on Saturday then KIO??? I hear what you and Dave are saying and you both make valid points, but Delia is here to stay - certainly in the short to medium term and we'd better get used to it!!! Edit - Unfortunately, I won't be at the game on Saturday, as I've volunteered to be a bar steward at Porkstock in the evening and have to be there by 5pm!! http://porkstock.co.uk/
The way some supporters react you would think NCFC are on the verge of bankruptcy and going out of existence, where as I think we're in a healthy position and no need for dramatic change. The fact I read some people want to protest is ludicrous, that will only make it a toxic atmosphere that won't help.
