    I thought the first reply was the sharpest. Seriously though, combine this with the local authority cuts, place is in deep ****, all this start up a new business and look at the Royals having a nice time on tv ****, is not working.

    Yup- I did interviews up in Workington a couple of years ago for another big employer which has now more or less bitten the dust. The landlord of the B and B reckoned that it was 2 organisations keeping the whole area going. It's sad really - many people associates Cumbria with just the Lakes which really isn't the case - if you live outside it's really grim.
