So saying he has awful starting positions and awareness are not negative? Love to know where the 6-8 of the 20 that came out - I see around 2 or 3 that he should've done better with - most of the ones which ended up in the box were powerful shots in a "get something on it to stop it then worry about it later" thing. One of the shots which ended up in the 6 yard box was a full stretch save onto the post! Remember Peter Lorimer took his shot from 6 yards (ish) after Monty's first save in 1973. I.e. he also pushed the ball back into the 6 yard box instead of around the post. First one was a great save - second one was even better! Stop the ball first then worry about it afterwards

You sound like a broken record. I didn't "give him ****" I gave my opinion on what I thought was harsh criticism of our new keeper. I like Nads - cracking poster - I just thought it was unfair what he said about the lad. Or am I not entitled to my opinion?

Pretty sure Nads can fight his own side of the argument. Every time someone does something you don't like or disagree with "this board is ****ed" - seen it from you loads of times yet we're all still here. My opinion is different to Nads - didn't have a go at anyone or give anyone **** for anything. What I perceive as negativity with what I see as little reason is what I made my statement about. If you don't like it - it's a football forum where people argue, give different opinions etc. Doesn;t mean the place is "****ed" just means that''s your opinion (which you like to state many many times)
What's so impressive about Pickford in comparison is where he parries the shots. 9/10 he parries them away from the danger area i.e. around the post of away from the 6 yard box towards the wings.

I'd say that a couple of weeks ago when we hadn't signed many new players and it looked like we'd miss out on M'Vila was a dangerously negative time but that's past now and it'd be nice to be able to say "Kirchhoff had a bad debut" or "this new keeper needs work" without anyone banging on about negativity.
The video is supposed to be his best saves, right? So its only going to show the most spectacular ones, not the ones he holds comfortably. Do a YouTube search on Gianluigi Buffon's (for example) best saves and see how many he holds in that video (spoiler: its not many). His starting position does look suspect though and he should have pushed some of them further away but I just took that to suggest that he's an eccentric- like a modern day Lionel Perez.

Not the only one - I don't every tell people they're not entitled to their opinion and I expect people to defend their opinion. I read that wrong, you meant people shouldn't be accused of being negative, when they are just giving an opinion on somebody, even if that opinion is not good. You didn't mean people are being negative, by saying the keeper needs work. I now understand your opinion. I hope your opinion of me hasn't changed.

His starting positions are awful on those bills in from distance though mate. I'm actually not trying to be negative as such, I've faith in our goalkeeping coaches (a rather key positive you've chosen to ignore), but it doesn't scream that we've effectively got the back up for Vito that is anywhere near the calibre of Pickford from that showreel. No drama mate we will see how the lad pans out and if he turns out to be Schmeichel reincarnated nobody will be more delighted than me. That shirt should remain Pickfords at least until Vito returns though, unless we had signed an experienced, Prem ready keeper.
