In the context that PLT is referring to GCSEs is a plural, not a shortening of "GCSE is". The latter would require an apostrophe, the former doesn't. To apply your logic properly, it would be G'C'S'E's.
Complete rubbish. Aside from the fact that it's not even a plural, it's also an abbreviation, so the missing letters are not actually missing. Numpty.
The singular is General Certificate of Secondary Education. The plural is General Certificates of Secondary Education. The abbreviated singular is GCSE The abbreviated plural is GCSEs.
Am I the only one on here with no A levels Zero O levels and Nil GSE or.GCSE. Ya ****ing bunch of swots
I try and educate and inform, but most of the ****ers* on here are beyond hope. Maybe Google will be their friend? *Maybe it should be ****er's to please the unwashed and uneducated?
However many exams I pass, (and I have managed a few), I still don't know as much as I did when I was 15. Then I knew everything. Some of the folk on here don't seem to have got past 15....
