Watched the following yesterday... - Avengers Assemble - England match - new Jungle Book - Winter Soldier Civil War
It seems Hollywood has run out of ideas. After remaking Ben Hur, they have now made yet another version of The Magnificent Seven. God help us.
god no.... I watched dirty dozen this weekend on either dave or watch who have decided to thrown in movies. proper bloody movies. people remaking movies 95% of the time ruin them.
that ben hur will be utter utter **** don't even need to look at anything about it to say that modern Hollywood can't do that sort of ancient/mythological stuff right or well apart from gladiator, though i wouldn't put that in the same category of film other than it being pseudo-ancient history
Sharkansas Women's Prison Massacre. I bought it thinking it'd be good in a so-bad-it's-good way but it was just bad in a they-could-have-tried-harder way. But the full movie is on youtube if you simply must see it. Warning: not much sharkage and precious little tittilation for a movie featuring a former porn princess.
I was told two things. 1. Someone brought their 7 year old to it and they enjoyed it. 2. Most reviews say joker is good but hardly in it and they havked it apart on american test audiences and ruined it. I think its a bit of fluff.
Finished Night Of Very satisfying mini-series on the whole It gently forces you and pushes to ask questions about society after 9/11, race, politics, culture, class/economics, authority and business, how we all relate to these and make presumptions and have personal or professional narrow-mindedness that makes us overlook obvious things. Also makes you think about the consequences of simple everyday decisions we make They left lots of ambiguity in there around Nas and the crime which I liked Didn't like how they suddenly dropped the financial advisor in as a suspect right at the end, why not thread that in with the other possible suspects from the start ? Style reminded me of a cross between The Wire, Twin Peaks and True Detective, strange but effective shifts in tone between very serious issues and absurdly comic moments. Reminded me of Ramin Bahrani's films as well actually who I think we were mentioning here not that long ago Some elements of the conclusion were perfect, others left me wanting Turturro as the lawyer was superb throughout, liked what they did with the cat Didn't like the way they went with the younger girl lawyer's story ... helping yer boy Nas out with the narcs, seemed not very natural
its better than BvS, and not as good as Deadpool - somewhere in between without swearing, harley quinn and deadshot make the film, joker hardly in it, batman has some good little cameos too. i enjoyed it after the absolute ****ing fail that was batman vs superman, shows promise that dc may get the universe thing right.
Sounds a bit similar to Mr Robot which is good Narcos season 2 is on netflix, i thought that got a bit meh the last few episodes of season one, but ill give the new one a go this week some time. War Dogs, based on a true story comedy was decent enough, not a classic or anything but i was laughing a lot of the way through it.
