Stories all over the place that Tony Pulis will walk away from the Hawthorns and that West Brom management are sound out Roy to come back, as his replacement. One report: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/west-brom-approach-roy-hodgson-8781487 Apparently Pulis is unhappy about a lack of activity in the transfer window but the unrest is probably two-way and goes much deeper than that. The 'Berahino Affair' for example, which has been rumbling for what, 18 months and must be costing the club stacks in so many different ways. Before this latest stuff there was gossip about some personal financial problems that Pulis had ... but enough about him and West Brom ... If Roy is truly in the market again ... well, why not bring him home. One thing that our Club sadly lacks is a football person, and more so one that understands the Fulham traditions, on the Board. After Roy resigned from the England post I mooted the idea of him being given a role. Now I'll go one better - appoint him in place of Mike Rigg. Oh I know we had a good window ourselves and Rigg is getting some pats on the back. Maybe he deserves them. Only Mr Khan really knows I suspect. However, Rigg was clearly ordered to 'get out of the limelight' after that disasterous video at the beginning of last season and it's Ali Mac not Rigg who now ushers Mr Khan around when he makes a visitation. Moreover - evidenced by the Gaffer's very public criticisms just a few weeks ago - the tensions still exist. Would it not be for the better of all - not least Mr Khan's karma - to bring Roy back? please log in to view this image
Cant agree with that one Cottager,Roy did a wonderful job for us but that was in the past, and one must remember as much as he put Fulham on the map, Fulham resurrected his career so much so he moved on to greater things. Lets give Savi his chance without adding more fingers in the backroom pie
Fair argument rosc. And just like a good player doesn't necessarily mean a good manager, being good in the dugout doesn't mean Roy would deliver as a Board member. Mr Khan obviously operates where there's a layer of responsibility between him and the sharp end, so he's always going to have a Chief Footbal Officer. Guess I'm clutching at straws for a way to get rid of Rigg.
Mr Khan has made a new addtion to the Board - all to be revealed in tomorrow's programme (there's no change on the 'Directors' Profiles' on the official site as yet). It couldn't be, could it?
Whoever it is, I hope they pass the analytics test: percentage of board meetings attended; most tea consumed, that kind of thing.
