Great news. Wouldnt choose him over Kadar, but he could have a significant role this season.

Best Newcastle news for ages! Wouldn't chose him over Kadar? You're not serious....

<diva> I like how this season we're glad to have Fergie/Abied/Vuckic fit as they are going to have a part to play. Hopefully they'll all develop well as that's the makings Of a top class midfield

I think he means for the left back position.

    I hope so, anyway.

This, Kadar would be my first choice at LB (except for Enrique), and Fergie should be used LM <ok>

Of course I'm serious, Fergie would be wasted at LB, Kadar would be steady.

  9. Excellent news

Although i need to disagree with some others here about LB. Ferguson has play a few games at that position and done alright, Kadar hasn't played a single game at this level. If Enrique wasn't here and we didn't manage to get a replacement in time for the Arsenal game, i'd choose Fergie.

I've not seen Kadar play in the PL. He looked pretty good in the games i've seen him in but i don't know whether i'd risk him in a PL game.

I agree Fergie should be a LW, but he can cover LB if we need him

Fergie has looked good attacking from LB though, not defending IMO. If you look at the games he played there Jonas sat quite far back and covered him the whole game, and then we had him totally exposed in the Stoke game, which we all remember...

There was a minor rumour about him going to Holland or Belgium but he's still here. Need him this season for sure as it stands though, 4th choice CB and might even be 1st choice LB.

  14. Ferguson wasn't at fault for the Stoke goals thought and he didn't play badly. You can't use that as a reason not to play him at LB in the future. I'd also rather see him at LM but he's not a bad LWB either.

Defo need him, but by the looks of things from pre-season Pardew rates Tavernier higher in all 4 defensive positions, Kadar hasn't had a sniff and didn't even go to the US!

To be fair, he was at fault for one of the goals, caught way up the field and they had a run down the right, crossed and I think it was Walters who scored. Need loads of stamina to play at wing back, more than any other position on the field, and he hasnt played 90 mins yet. Wouldnt be the worst thing to see him at LB but I think we have better options.

  20. The first goal was Col Campbells fault, because he can't mark players any more, and he just allowed their striker a free run on goal. He got beat in the air. The 2nd goal was Harpers fault, he tried to dummy Kenwyne Jones and ended up smacking the ball off him, and the end result was penant knocking in. The 3rd goal was a free kick that went through the wall somehow. The fourth goal was right at the end, Carew barged his way passed Williamson or Coloccini and smashed it in.

None of the goals were Fergusons fault.

We were playing this formation -

    3-5-2

    -------------Harper---------------

    ----Willo-----Campbell----Colo-----

    Simmo--Barton-Tiote-Nolan---Enrique

    ---------Shola------Lover---------

That was the starting line up then Enrique came off. There was a cross in from the right side yes, but in this formation, Ferguson had to control the entire left side, and it doesn't mean you're a **** defender if you get beaten at times. The fault was Sol Campbells. Sol got out jumped too easily, which is ridiculous for a man of his size.

You can't judge Ferguson on the fact that he got beat on his side once. Enrique, despite the fact he's a great LB, doesn't have a 100% record either. And in the formation above, Ferguson had no support at the left.

Ferguson is better at LW i agree, but he's a decent LB.
