See that guy in the blue shirt, yeah that look is about right. Hopefully he rugby tackled them to the ground two seconds later.......
Man on way to work in Manchester stabbed in the neck by Asian stranger. I know you shouldn't tar all with the same brush, but is it any wonder that people are getting wary. They will no doubt find this man as he is on CCTV....so he too has wasted his life for nothing.
A woman on the TV just now said that black people were being polluted. I think it's outrageous that they have directed all the pollution just at the black community. Do they have giant pipes going into especially selected areas? (probably should have put this in blue but I don't think I need to)
Sorry to correct you Gordon, but it has already been done. Back in the early 1980's there was the Car for Africa based on a Citroen 2CV powered panel van, with a bodywork made very simply out of wood from the area. It didn't succeed. A before-its-time piece of innovation. Incidentally, Gordon hasn't been away. He's been involved in boat design amongst other things.
50 years to the day that the ITV programme [best thing they ever did] The Prisoner started shooting. In celebration I decided to watch the first episode. And do you know what, it's still got a bit of that innovative magic. The ole maverick in me is still right beside him too. As he said [probably Danger Man himself, spy John Drake, though it's never revealed], "I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own." Great stuff.
Went to Portmeirion this time last year and it's an amazing place. It was 'The Village', in case anyone was wondering. The sky was blue, the sun was shining and the buildings were beautiful. Seemingly, McGooan loved the place and often returned to stay in one of the cottages along the shore - can't say I blame him! If you're ever in north west Wales go along, it's a fascinating and really enjoyable day, even though I don't remember The Prisoner.
Yep, I've been to Portmeirion a couple of times. Quite delightful. But one always wants to escape it.
I keep getting drawn back there so never really escape, it's one of my all time favourite places. Massive fan of the prisoner, am a member of 6 of 1 so a regular pilgrim to Portmeirion. Fab hotel right down at the harbour, will cost an arm and a leg but its worth it just so you can stroll around in "the village" when it is completely deserted just around dawn. The changing light as the sun comes up makes it a truly magical place.
Just running through my favourite episodes. There are more good ones than average, but it's probably The Girl Who Was Death that swings it. 1] Because the delightful Justine Lord was starring in it, and even at the age of 9, I was a bit hot under the collar. My teacher at the time was the dead spit of Ms Lord as well and it was a bit difficult to concentrate occasionally. Made worse by the fact that she took a very healthy shine to me too. And don't worry for me, I loved every moment of that. 2] E-Type Jaguar and Lotus Elan do a merry dance around the British countryside, with a delightful LSD moment for our protagonist. A great episode.
Had a good chat with Derren Nesbitt in Portmeirion a couple of years ago over several massive G&Ts in the brilliant April sunshine - he played a new number 2 in one episode of the Prisoner and had some brilliant stories to tell about his experience of the series and in other films. He was less than complementary of McGoohan, but then again McGoohan was well known to be a driven, obsessive man who was hard to work with. Nesbitt himself is no saint, however he just doesnt care what people think...was great company. Interestingly, the thunderbirds puppets were allegedly modelled on Nesbitt as Gerry Anderson was a family friend - when you look at early photos of Nesbitt, you can certainly see a resemblance
That's the place LTL. Bit of a washout this year I think - the carpark was a swamp and they needed tractors to tow everything out afterwards. Apparently they located it on a flood plain, and the weather duly obliged. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-north-west-wales-37274630 I've not been yet but will give it a go one day. Noel Gallagher was there this year, along with Kaiser chiefs and Super furry animals among others.
Nice. Did he know him, or was he just there at the same time? I often wonder what people were like before they found fame and fortune.
