You'll be hard pressed to find a fan (Liverpool or rival) who thinks that Balotelli is a superior football player to Carragher.

Even more hard pressed to find someone who thinks Balotelli is superior to Carragher before he retired.

Balotelli calling Carragher a "bad player" is just ludicrous. Balotelli just sounds bitter. He's en route to bring the next Diouf.

 

Thought Carra was out of order but personally i think he and Steve G both got to big for their boots. I would like to think the comment came from carra's love for LFC but i dont think it did.
Personally I think Balo had a watershed night and it was the night he took the pen. Steve G was pundit and basically slagged Balo off to the nation. Balo could not win from that moment on. Not sure he could have changed but any chance went out the window that night imo

 

I lost all respect for Carra when he campaigned to get rid of Rafa, so he could push through a new contract for himself.

 

FFS. Carra and stevie g are legends of this club. Balotelli is a fecking nobody and probably will remain one.

He did well for us and nothing will ever change that, but yeah dont think he has done himself any favours since quitting

I think that was more a watershed for Henderson as captain. Much like Baines, Jordan is far too weak a personality to be captain and that night proved it when he got trampled over by Balotelli for the penalty. Gerrard was wrong to say what he did about a team mate on TV but in hindsight I think he was just ****ed off at having to see the club he loved have an idiot like Balotelli there causing divides within the dressing room and trying to undermine the captain for his own personal glory. Though to be honest I have no idea which idiot thought Henderson who I've never seen take a penalty in a game was a better choice for penalty taker than Balotelli who had a fantastic record.

I think Carra's comment comes from frustration at the fact he loves Liverpool and wants to see us do well and we had a player like Balotelli who put in zero effort whenever he was on the pitch which is the complete opposite to Carra who left everything on the pitch when he played for Liverpool.

Can see your point about Henderson. Steve was our club captain and as someone else stated above a legend of the club. He was stupid enough to go on as a pundit to put himself in a position where he more likely than not would have to make a difficult comment. Should not have gone on- not like he needed the money. Back in 2005 Steve G said he wanted to leave, many variations on what made him stay but he should never have wanted to leave. End of.
As i said above I hope that Carra's comments were our of love but unfortunately I am not convinced. Will just have to see. What i dont like about the majority of our ex players is that a lot of them seem to enjoy sticking the boot in. Barnes, Fowler and Aldridge always talk positive about the club. Lawrenson, Hansen, Carra, Murphy, Owen always seem to to be very negative.
