Evening lads. Has JH been involved much in your pre-season yet? Just wondering how he was getting on. Very talented, but raw, player who should benefit from playing with your midfield over time. You paid a bit over the odds for him, well quite a bit actually, but he could turn out to be a bargain if he develops according to his potential.
Not played yet mate. Having been at the world cup for juniors or whatever it was then he's had a little rest ready for the new season. He'll be making his debut against Hull City (this saturday) though in all likelyhood.
Hasn't played yet. He got given a break because of the Under 21 championship and therefore didn't go on our Asia tour. I would expect him to make his debut against Hull at the weekend and then probably get some game time in our other 3 pre-season games.
He should play some part against Hull.Yeah we probably did pay £6 million too much for him,£10 million instead of £16 million would have been fairer. We however paid more because he's English. However it wasn't too bad as Man United paid nearly £15 million too much for Carrick, the reason being he's English.
Back again - seen much (if anything) of JH yet? Doubt he'll make the team for the first match of the season, but you never know...
To be honest he looks pretty sharp. With Gerrard injured till September, there may be a place for Jordan for the first few games. However, Kenny will have a tough choice about who to play so who knows!
Crabbers interviewed him at Liverpools training ground the other day, and it seemed like he was preparing to play the game, i think Hendo's direct quote was "i'll prepare just like it's any other game" Stewy Downing was also meant to be saying nice things about us.
Yeah i got the impression our guys really do respect Sunderland, and can see how improved the have been recently. No doubt JH would love to play against you (he said he would love the banter between his family!). I hope he does get a game, being a Sunderland boy and all that, however i suspect he may be a second half sub.
Yeah it'll be good to see him out there. He'll get a good reception from the (sold out) travelling support (£44 a ticket is a joke though) no doubt.
It's a lot steep, but seems to be the way things are going in the prem these days. Cheap compared to the rumoured 72 quid that QPR are charging us. Canny pic on the beeb homepage the other day, of our lot at last game of last season. please log in to view this image
Yeah but you'll get to shag an old scouse bint - so overall not a bad price On a serious note, glad you guys understand his transfer and aren't all bitter with him
why should we be bitter? he's a great lad and decent player but not worth half the fee lfc paid, thanks for the 14m tip
I was surprised at the Hendo move, living in the North east and doing a lot of work in/around Sunderland you hear a fair bit about the footballers. Hendo's professionalism was highly rated by you guys and there was a lot of speculation about his future (being bright and all), a lot of fans thought he would be lifelong committed to the club whilst others thought a big money team like Chelsea would try prize him away at the end of the season. Of course at the time we were still under H&G and Hodgeson so I/we would have never thought that we would go for him, but I can honestly say I am happy with this signing even for that price. The lads only 21 and I think he's got a big future ahead of him. P.S full respect to you guys for supporting him and good luck for next season (except 1st game obv.)
I only said about being bitter due to often transfers turn supporters against the player. Good to see you guys still supporting him
A hairy Ray Wilkins BAD waste of dough I will let all you lads jizz your pants til you actually see him play - i will await the apologies
