How? I am trying to be on your side here HIAG, I really am! The crux of it, to me, sounds like this. Pixie wanted to make a bet with you, if you lost you had to wear an avatar of his choice, you didnt want that, so you both agreed to let Luv choose the avatar, you both agreed said avatar that Luv decreed, you lost the bet, Pixie rubbed it in and gloated, which pissed you off, so you decided not to wear the avatar agreed upon to annoy him. Thats kinda what this sounds like to me, if its boiled down simply, right?
You agreed on this bet knowing that Pixie is a twat and Luvvy is a clown though. You cannot renege just because you have decided that the people involved are twats. You chose to make the bet in the first place, why even entertain the idea if you have such low opinion of the people involved?
No, it didn't go like that. You are merely peddling Pixie's version of matters. What is fact is that I changed my avatar and am honouring the bet. That is all you need to know, Bodi. Pixie hates that, because he cannot deny that I have changed my avatar to one of Adams. You really must try to avoid falling into his semantic traps, Bodi. I would never try to do something like that, by the way.
I have changed my avatar to one of Adams. The only issue in contention is that I haven't changed it to one that Pixie likes. And - to put a lid on all of this - whatever the rights and wrongs of the situation, as a matter of principle, I will not change my avatar to one that Pixie wants, because he has been an utter twat about this from start to finish. That is his attitude. No grace, no dignity in victory. I might as well be damned for honouring the bet as I see fit rather than how he sees fit, because I'm damned either way. At least by doing it my way, I have had him rattled for weeks, and think that I can string it out for the rest of the season!
But he just showed me a post, from you, where you stated you were in agreement with the avatar choice? Are you saying he faked that? You are not explaining yourself very well.
Again, I will remind you, you two hate each other, you have been fighting and bickering like Itchy and Scratchy since the day you joined this forum, when one of you lost the bet, did you not expect extreme piss taking of the highest order? You telling me you didn't see that coming?
Bodi, I have to do some work now... However - and very briefly - I have already stated, in an earlier post during this exchange, that I "subsequently" agreed to a particular avatar, but that because Pixie turned into a complete twat about everything I changed my mind. Because of the way in which the ramshackle bet evolved, I never saw myself bound to any particular avatar of Adams. And, as I have said elsewhere, the bottom line is, whatever the rights or wrongs of the matter, I am not going to go with the avatar that Pixie wants, as a matter of principal, now.
So it is as I stated, you agreed on an avatar, and because Pixie was being a tool, you reneged on the agreement (Or changed your mind, as you called it). Pixie then does have a point, you didn't fulfil your end of the bargain, that doesn't make him any less of a tool (after all he supports Arsenal ), but still, on this particular issue, he is correct. But you still found a way to wind him up, even when he was victorious, so props for that
Epic meltdown .. Reality ... as I recall it.... @luvgonzo proposed the bet after reams of the ususal HAIG v Piskie bollox ... 'twas a simple concept ... Spuds v Goons on finishing position ... at the time the odds seemed stacked heavily in the Spuds favour as many people felt they would overhaul the mighty foxes and it was almost inconceivable that they wouldn't finish in the top 2 ... HIAG was encouraged to back his claims / judgements of a tangible "North London Power Shift" and, despite wriggling like a tiddler on a barbless hook for quite some time, eventually took the bet (possibly because of some cajoling from his fellow Spuds on the thread) ... as it transpired. like numerous other threads he had created on the Spud Goon dynamic ... it imploded spectaculary ... not just egg on his face but the whole hen coop ... reacted like a sulky kid and is still wailing even now ... it wasn't even a proper bet ... HIAG insisted on it being restricted to a month the big girl ... could have all been over with by now if he had just manned up and accepted his medicine
My last word on it (well probably, no promises). I set up the bet and made the rules as clear as possible, (Roofys lawyers dispute this but hey what can I do) My intention was to get PISKIE to have a silly avatar but that went a bit wrong. Everyone then kept trying to add crap to the avatar and I got bored of it so went with the suggestion from PISKIE as it seemed fair and didn't have any other players or text in the avatar. I didn't want additional text or players as I felt HAIG would then refuse. HAIG has decided to do his own thing. Everyone is banging on about it. Do I care if HAIG goes with it or not? No I don't.
Personally, for me, you can rock any damned avatar you choose, ultimately makes no odds to me. But I just think by not doing it, you have given Pixie far more ammo than you would have if you had just done it in the first place. And making the bet and not expecting to be ripped the **** out of, if you lost, was a little silly. After all, you would have given PIXIE so much **** if you had won.
Well I will take that, since he was in charge of sanctioning the avatar to begin with. But deciding on the avatar AFTER you had lost the best still tarnishes it for me somewhat.
