Custard, I know the "leaves" are in the minority on this board, so you tend to help fight each other's battles, but surely you can see that Pete has no intention of debate with anyone. All he is interested in is being pedantic so to somehow show is is superior to the rest of us.
In every post he makes, he results to insulting others. It may not be the typical "you are a ****", but it's insults all the same.
You can imagine his poor old wife asking him to turn the television over to channel 1, only to be lectured for the next half an hour as to there's no such thing as channel 1, it's BBC 1.
Perhaps if he removed the ****ing great "chips" he has on both shoulders and tried to converse with others, he may not be constantly ridiculed.

 

I don't think controversy feeds this site at all, it may feed some threads but not the site.

 

We are all insulting each other and it does need to stop or as we keep getting 3 good posts followed by 100 insulting posts

I'd rather all MPs were sensible. The Conservative Party rules because they have the best policies and attitudes. I would prefer the Labour Party to have good policies and attitudes too but they never will as long as they allow the left wing loonies to be in control.

Interesting comments from Philip Hildebrand, former head of the Swiss central bank.
His view is that we can have free trade of goods and sovereignty of immigration but we will not get a financial services agreement

Plenty of people have opinions on this but it means little compared to what happens during the negotiations. But that should be obvious. I don't know why there's all this random speculation. It will all be dealt with in good time. Don't panic!
