Still played 31 games last year despite being 37/38. Would rather have him than Anichebe tbh. Just shows how desperate we are, IMO.
Don't think he's had any legs for most of his career, not literally but even if he was just a torso he'd probably still grab a few goals. Good player and I'd be happy to take him on. As I suggested before he hasn't moved faster than a jog for some time so his age isn't a big deal.
This is more like it. This is exactly what we need, a big strong forward who can hold the ball up, he's guaranteed to win the majority of headers and a natural finisher. If Moyes rejects him after taking Anichebe on, he want's slapped across the face with a jumbo sausage.
Good player and I don't think his age is an issue. Especially if he's not playing every game or coming off the bench. I think he averages about 1 in 3 at club level. Makes the Anichebe signing seem a bit odd if this is true although I suppose it gives us plenty of covers and/or options. Undoubtedly he could teach Asoro a thing or two. He's an international legend and its always nice to have one of those that club, even if it is in the twilight of his career.
Stallone is not a good shout mate. He let in 4 goals. He did save a penalty but it was in slow motion. I would take fat Ronaldo though, no question.
What is to old? Christian Vieri announced he is emerging from retirement to play in an as-of-yet unspecified club in China. The former Azzurri striker announced his resignation in October 2009, after a long career that saw him playing for Juventus, Atletico Madrid, Lazio, Inter and Fiorentina among others. Now the 43-year-old announced on his Instagram profile that he will return to playing football, this time for an unnamed Chinese club. “Good morning everyone,” reads his profile. “At more or less 8:30am, there's huge news on the Formentera broadcast: Bobo is back, I've decided to go play in China. “Five months ago I weighed 101kg, now I'm at 91kg, I've lost 10. I must drop another two, reach 89kg and I'm ready. Have a nice day.”
You have to kidding, fantastic player world cup winner and other honours there is more chance of Shearer buying a top from the club shop hehe
Francesco Totti will be 40 at the end of the month and he's still going. Paolo Maldini played on until he was 41. With medical improvements and scientific advances as well as better training schedules, I can see more players' careers extending in to their forties over the next decade or two.
