I thunk both teams have very good attacking options like Snodgrass gradel and becchio when fit and for us lambert lallana and chamberlain. It goes without saying that both defences will have some trouble throughout the game and will cause some trouble. I think both teams are good teams and i predict this game to be very close. Ive got nothing against leeds and think theyve got a agreat manager. Im expecting to be nervous at times when i see your attackers bombing forward as i think we will do to. At the end of the day i hope leeds do well this eeasson and hopefully see you in play-offs (fingers crossed) This game is going to be great hence it being chosen for sky. COYR
congratulations, you pointed out a stereotype that would be reinforced by doing so. Most people would say the Leeds fans but most people would be looking for it, so it'd prove nothing.
And I've seen plenty of people on here claiming that the Leeds attack/midfield will be penetrating southamptons defence like a finger through wet toilet roll, but i'm still going for a 2 nil win to Saints x
I'm going for a narrow and very close 2-1 win to the Saints. I think that our home form will make the difference and Nigel Adkins uncanny knack of getting wins from unlikely postions. We now have many attacking options and 'impact' players at the club, some with skill (Connolly,Guly,Lallana) and others with pace (Chambo,De Ridder,Forte) to help to change a game in our favour.
I think the point we Leeds fans are trying to make is that our best (a.k.a attacking) players proved themselves in this league over the course of last season, while yours were playing against far weaker defences, and so it will be hard to say how they do at this level until you've played a few games. There's been arrogance from both sides, but ours have more of a foundation... if you know what I mean. We think that because we did it to every team last season, we even managed 4 goals in one of our worst defeats of the season, so we have no reason to think they won't on Saturday, but you never know over 90 minutes.
Ahh almost a sensibly reasoned post! I read the first half and thought...fair enough. Get to the second half.. your attack completely overwhelmed every team last season? I know you were very high scorers last season, but come on!
It did, there wasn't one team we didn't score against at some point in the season, including 9 goals against Scunthorpe, 6 against Doncaster (in one game), 4 against the best defence in the league in QPR, 5 against Nottm Forest, 3 against Norwich, 6 against Preston. I think you are underestimating (bringing it back) just how woefully bad our defence was at points last season.
I think its headed for 1 - 1. Or maybe 1 - 0 to either side. Saints never win their opener and its on SKy which doesn't help either. But that said the level of optimism and hope about SFC at the moment is more than theirs been for literally decades and Adkins will have the boys up for this from the Kick Off. In fact the more I think about this game the more I reckon we can do Leeds right up the *****er and smash your dirty northern back doors down. xx
I said nothing about your defence, all I'm saying is whilst you do have a good attack, I think it's a wild overstatement to say you overwhelmed every defence in the division. Just had a look at your results, and for example you failed to score against Reading, two 0-0s to be fair.
Also, this is a good read: http://www.betting-directory.com/fo...ds-saints-favourites-to-return-with-a-win.php
Now that is an interesting thing........despite all your Posturing how good your team is.....It would seem that the experts don't agree with you......they are giving us odds on to win........Now there's a thing......
