... your inference that Vaz's behaviour is / was somehow linked to him being a remainer is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen written on these boards, which is saying something <ok> ...

Yes even in TTIP the US is asking for free movement of workers.

We discussed this weeks ago on this forum that this was related to corporations wanting flexible movement of its workforce so yes I didn't feel the need to qualify it further. I've even quoted the same section of TTIP as you did.

That you read more into it than was intended does not make the statement illogical.

    And?

Do you have an issue with homosexuals Pete? As that's the second homosexual MP you've commented on today.

If I didn't mean "free movement of workers" and I meant what you were talking about I would have said "free movement of workers within related corporations". I think you would accept there is a world of difference between the two.

    You said (and I quote)

"He acted like a lot of Remainers by talking rubbish when he was found out"

Which was you making an idiotic correlation between someone's views on the EU and how they react when caught in some form of embarrassing situation.

In addition his views on Brexit have nothing to do with any of it.

Neither are either logical or sensible Pete.

but the Japs dont openly publish thigs like that.
EU have paid them in my books.

If they have concerns they should have gone to the UK Gov in private, which normally they would do, this stinks of Junker

I'm surprised it's been made so public. Who's responsible, I wouldn't like to say. But it certainly wouldn't have been done without the aquiesense of The Japanese.

The upshot is that they, like many others, are very concerned about future unfettered access to mainland Europe's market.

As I and others have consistently said, there will almost certainly be no free trade without free movement of people. If that tariff free trade is not forthcoming, future investment will certainly dry up very quickly and many Japanese and other foreign companies will use the earliest opportunity to move out of the U.K. into the EU.

The Japanese are responsible for circa 140,000 jobs in this country, they therefore have a large element of risk should the UK get their negotiations wrong i.e. a tariff.

As this would cost them profit in the short term and infrastructure costs in the longer term as they relocated to the other side of the channel

The idea that Juncker slipped them a few quid to write a 15 page letter outlining their concerns is barking ****ing mad.

Ignoring the fact that the UK isn't, nor ever has been part of the single currency, it's one man's opinion.

For what it's worth, I agree with some of his basic point.

Perhaps you should have said free movement of workers?

Also to show that while you claim most countries get by without it, free movement of workers does form part of trade negotiation and you are right I was not talking about free movement of all workers, it highlights that it is not just the EU that includes movement of people in negotiations in trade and TTIP itself explains why this is a necessary part of the trade.

When we sit down with the EU I'm sure the definition of free movement will be much debated and I suspect will result in a fudge where both sides claim victory.

It's not like there has to be winners and losers. Negotiations should result in benefits to all parties.

Japan do things private not in open air, thats where Im coming from. The EU (in my book) has got to them to publicly say as such.
They are intitled to talk to the UK Gov about its conserns

... did you forget a comma after "what" ? or possibly "saying" ?... without one the sentence doesn't work ... I've answered your second sentence.

... as to the first ... what possible motive would you have for metioning Keith Vaz and that he is a remainer? ... has he been in the news or something? ... for something that has sod all to do with the EU debate perhaps? or is he just the first of a long list of brexiters that you were, in any case, going to name and it's just pure coincidence that he is currently in the papers <doh>

I can see where you're coming from in terms of the public sharing of the detail, however if I was calling foul, I'd probably be looking closer to home tbh.

There seems to be a concerted 'softening up' process in play. May's comments about immigration policy etc

I'm offended! He hasn't put me on ignore yet! Am I not insulting him enough or something?

We had a bloke on our board that used to put people on ignore all the time. If you argued or disagreed with him, he put you on ignore.

I think it got to stage that when when he logged on all he saw was a blank page, so he left! <laugh>
