All in all, it does point to a 'plan' being in place, and options and opportunities capitalised on. <ok>

I'd call it summarise to the key points, but call it as you wish. It's one item in a longer list, which all in all is positive.

There's absolutely nothing positive about what the Japanese have said.

That's a warning shot across the bows!...

Looks like the EU have been paying the Nips to come up with such crap.

Japan do things by the quiet, not in fill public, smells of a Junkers doing

Nothing? Accepting the 'may' caveat, this sounds hard to describe as a negative.

"The Japanese ambassador in London, Koji Tsuruoka said he had spoken with executives at leading Japanese firms in the UK and none of them wanted to pull out.

He added, "I have been talking to a number of Japanese business leaders operating in the UK and they all agree that the UK is the best place to do business in Europe. They want to continue to operate from the UK, and the list of issues we have put out to the UK as well as the EU are issues that they are seeking to achieve."

Quite a lot of positives in the full meetings. Little surprise it's all ignored and sidetracked by the usual's on here because of a three letter word.

You suspect wrong. The individual asked the question; changed his mind and throughout was unable to explain what he was talking about. I simple tried to help him. If he couldn't explain what he was talking about then it wasn't clear that he would have been asking a logical question so there's nothing wrong with asking if he meant something that I couldn't see any logic in.

No, of course they don't want the hassle of pulling out unless necessary, why would they??

However, what has been said is a clear warning that if certain criteria are not met, then they may well do just that.

In amongst that list is the Japanese telling us we'll have to ensure that we retain free trade and freedom of movement or they'll do one.

Farage accusing May of backsliding on immigration and Brexit in it's entirety

Juncker telling May to pipe down in terms of trade discussions with non EU countries as we're still a member of the club and haven't pressed the button yet.

and May telling India they can have their illegals back....

So they're negotiating, and have expressed a desire to stay provided conditions are right. They seem to like the idea of post brexit UK. We like the idea of trading with them, so there doesn't seem to be a major issue.

To be fair, if this is all there is for the ususal's to latch on to, it looks like a positive series of meetings. <ok>

So when I said "Freudian slip?" you made it sound like I'd been criticising him for a typo?

They were extremely clear in what they needed to happen in order for that to remain the case post Brexit.

    Hence the 15 page letter.

It's only positive if we deliver a deal that covers most of their requirements.

If they'd done as others (wrongly) predicted companies would do and said they're out if we leave the EU, then perhaps your panic would be justified.

As it is, they're negotiating for the best deal for them in the new agreements (that some on here predicted wouldn't/couldn't happen) . Who can blame them, it's business.

I can't see any reason to pay into the EU.
I think we will be quite happy to allow people in who's skills we need.
