I understand that you will think it is VERY COMPLICATED. "Politics is mundane"; "Is Cameron married? I never noticed".

Most of politics is incredibly mundane. There might be more than a few MPs debating things 95% of the time if it wasn't. The referendum and the ongoing fallout are interesting.

Negotiations are complicated if you don't have a Little Englander attitude towards them and realise the rest of the world won't kowtow to a relatively small nation and economy.

There's the entire issue in a nutshell. It'll leave the bigots with **** all else to hide behind though if that ends up being the stark choice facing the Nation (as I'm convinced it will be)

As all of the other reasons for wanting out of the EU will have been ticked off.

So the simple choice between free trade and free movement will be the sole issue.

I dont think you have the knowledge to even understand the question. If people want free trade they only have to agree to it. Why do they want freedom of movement? Most countries in the world get by without it. These countries prefer to control their own borders.

Evidently you don't have the knowledge to understand what a negotiation is.

So you don't think it's just a question of "having a plan"?
"relatively small nation and economy"? Do you think geography and economics are mundane, too?

Sadly no one explained the direct link between free trade and free movement to the gullible and the scared prior to the referendum. I actually blame the Remain campaign for that.

I think you haven't got a clue what free trade is and the protections that are still negotiated within it.
Even in TTIP the US is asking for free movement of workers.

Quite how you think you've got either the intellectual capacity or the knowledge to patronise an obviously intelligent poster in such a way is beyond me.

I think we can add completely delusional to your list of character traits, which the "20 years younger" post hammered home tbf.

    What a bell end

What is the extent of your negotiation experience?

    As do I.

They should have roped in the EU leaders to state that it would be a pre-requisite to any free trade deal, it would have made their economic argument hold much more water.

Are you going to claim experience of negotiating a free trade deal or are you going to claim negotiating with an individual is the same level of complexity?

Agreeing the rent for your attic room and putting your book keeping fees up by 20p an hour doesn't really qualify you as a master negotiator.

My degree is in Economics with Spanish so, while neither are exhilarating, they are of more interest to me than most of politics.

Having a plan is great, Pete, though I'm not sure we do. It's not just a questions of having a plan at all. How the others react to that plan is more important and if those negotiating can foresee what is to come and have a further plan to counter that. We aren't a tiny country but we aren't as big or powerful as the EU or world's largest economies.

Something tells me that the only negotiating Pete has done is with a Turkish market salesman over a dodgy Piere Cardin suit.

    What's yours you fat mess?

You're a ****ing bean counter for low end clients in SW London.

What massive negotiations have you been part of? (and getting a couple of grand off one of your multiple kitchens doesn't count)

Do you actually understand anything about TTIP?
"Chapter IV, Articles 24 to 28 would allow free movement of business managers, and other employees of a corporation, for temporary work purposes among all countries party to the agreement.[38] Article 1(2) makes it clear, however, that no more general free movement of workers and citizens is allowed."
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trans...andards.2C_workers.27_rights_and_job_security
So you think that under TTIP any EU citizens will be able to go and work in the USA?

I regularly broker free trade negotiations for small nations choosing to leave FTAs. All the time.

Why should it be an insult? He has admitted he finds politics mundane. He doesn't keep up with large parts of politics. He didn't know Angela Eagle was a lesbian. Now it is an insult to accept what he says?
