Danny Rose...our best defender, best midfielder and best attacker. The rest...extremely average! Is Rooney England's Naismith?

2 goals for Snoddy and 1 for Chrissy Martin, as Norwich rejects put Scotland 3-1 up.

He's not quite a Norwich reject...yet, is that correct Rick ;)
Snodders got 3, C martin one and Fletcher the other as they won 1 - 5

Some interesting player ratings for the Scotland team from Willie Miller - he gave Snoddy a 10 and Rusty a 6 (one of the lowest). I see Marshall was in goal - another NCFC reject!!! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37271425

I see that Lafferty started, didn't score and got subbed midway through the second half.

That's only because Naismith was unavailable (as he is Scottish) <whistle>

A lot of attention and love for Naismith on these threads lately. Is it the new "Chip Inn" or "Have we signed a striker"?

"Naismith isn't good at kicking a football right"

We tried all that malarkey with Howson, Vadis, etc. and they could kick a football!

    What a heap of crap!
"I can't tell Rooney where to play" says Allardyce <yikes>
Talk about stamping your authority as manager on the national side!
Maybe not just yet, Sam, but you can withdraw him from the fray if he refuses to comply with your chosen team ethics <grr>
Or maybe this is actually the way forward - when Naismith and Whittaker are having a mare of a game, they could simply swap positions <yikes>

Exactly what I said to the GF when he was being interviewed after the game.

"What does he mean he can't tell him where to play, you are his manager! He'll do what he's told if you grow some balls!"

Listening to Wright, Dixon and Hoddle talking about Rooney after the game. Saying, something like:

"If you play Rooney deep, he needs to push up into the box a lot more"

    No.

If you play Rooney deep (and he was stupidly deep, there were times he was the furthest England player back apart from Hart!!) But if you want him to sit deep and build play, then you can't play 2 other sitting midfielders like Dier AND Henderson. Coz Rooney is playing that roll too! You can't have 3 deep negative holding players, as yesterday proved. He's not going to sprint from deepest player to a later run into the box, he hasn't got the pace or fitness. If Rooney plays so deep, then he needs to sit with Dier, and then we need to play someone like Dele or Vardy to stay forward!

Kane was non existent yesterday because he had no support at all. He tried his best to hold it up and win fouls, but he never looked like he was going to score or really worry Slovakia.
