Well we looked just as clueless as at the Euros, and somehow come away with a win. Bring on Big Sam's reign of terror
Still struggled to break down a a pretty average side with 10 men, so I'm not pissing my pants with excitement just yet.
Well, that was pretty average. Thank God Skrtel is still a twat. I thought we looked better when we dumped a few of those Spurs donkeys! And brought on that other Spurs donkey...
I thought we were better than in the euros, obviously still stuck in some ways but this is the first game since ****ty Hodgson. Alli coming on made a big difference, he filled that hole and linked play reasonably well. We actually passed the ball forwards and when playing one touch football, we created a few chances. The pitch didn't help the game, looked bloody firm as the bounce seemed exaggerated. Overall, good start to the qualifying. Henderson, Sturridge should never play for England. Kane looks awfully off form. Rooney isn't a midfielder. Sterling is dogshite.
Have to say, I do really like Sam's enthusiasm and happiness at being England manager - makes a nice change from the progression of people that have treated it like a particularly embarrassing itchy spot.
I was disappointed when England scored, I'd have loved to see Slovakia score a 95th minute winner, shoving two fingers up at those overpaid, primadonas and the FA in all it's glorious incompetence.
Yeah I like him. Seems like a decent bloke to boot. Don't see him as a yes man either so should have the bottle to make big calls.
Congratulations to Adam for his first England goal and being the match winner, I feel a bit of pride in that. Got a good feeling about Sam's reign, there will be plenty of spirit in the team.
