Another body in i suppose. Like everyone else probably i wait to see if he can reproduce his form from a couple of years ago, if not then he is no improvement on what we have.

More worryingly has anyone seen the news on Ed's blog about Chelsea after Tiote?? <yikes>

They're not after Tiote, and anyway they're too busy trying to steal Torress from Liverpool.

Isn't he currently injured? So whats the point in giving him a medical surely he would fail? That how it works on Football Manager anyway

Essien still has a few years left. Why unsettle him by buying Tiote?

Chelsea moving for Tiote would make no sense, as he'd be yet another player that they'd lose at the African Nations Cup, and he'd essentially be second to Essien whom is also, of course, African. If they want to strengthen there, it'll likely be a European player.

Haven't been impressed with Ireland. He's lost his passion for football and has got the ugliest tattoo on his back.

He won't fail his medical, we got gosling when he was injured. If Ireland finds his form again we will have one hell of a player on our hands.

I appreciate everyone skipping the "not in our best XI" argument against bringing a midfielder in. That's been the debate lodged against the idea all window, but how often have even been at our best this season? Constant injuries and suspensions, and maybe he'll see this as his last chance to prove he hasn't lost it.

At least it will be another signing but to be honest i think we need a striker more than we need another midfielder!

Second this. Ireland showed huge potential at Man City, hope he can repeat this. he didn't play well against us this season, then again no villa player did ;) hope he grows back his beard, gives him an upside down face. it was the key to all his powers.

TBH i dont want a 'flash harry' at our club, and on the pitch we don't really need his type of player either.

Maybe a right winger, or a young up and coming DM to deputise for Tiote...
