Well that's it, they're twitter comments with limited characters to make your point. He's going to have to expand and they'll be plenty rags willing to make it worth his while. He has to say more imo and will have the opportunity. I fully expect lawyers to try and and censor him, otherwise he's no reason to not disclose the fine details of his allegations.
That's it, mate. Pressure is back on him now they have denied it. If an organisation basically made me out to be lying, which is what their denial has done, I'd be furious and drag as many of them through the **** as I could. If he stays quiet, it's a sign of guilt that he was telling porkies. Or, he could just come out and say **** you's, this is exactly what happened....
Unless they uncover a spot fix betting scam like they did with the cricket last year, I can`t see anything come of this tbh. No witnesses and no evidence. The powers that be will all have their backs well and truly covered. Halsey hung out to dry. I`ll be very much surprised if there`s any outcome other than that.
Probably. He needs to explain everything he knows, names and places etc.. If somebody else speaks out, or somebody from the FA cracks when under investigation, then it'll go all in his favour. This could either be the start, or the end.
It was the thing about giving a certain number corners that caught my attention. We were denied an absoute cert against ManC. Lord knows how many other games that happened in. I only watched ours. iirc it was the bookies who caught the cricket scam. It might be up to them to nail it.
It might something and nothing in the end. We saw the impact Twitter info had on this board earlier in the week. Doubtless the rags will give it their full treatment.

The former Premier League official was told to say he did not see a clash involving Steven Nzonzi against Stoke in 2011 — despite wanting to stand by his original decision. That meant Nzonzi, who played for Blackburn at the time, was slapped with a three-match ban instead of carrying on playing. Halsey, 55, said: “I saw the incident between Steven Nzonzi and Ryan Shawcross and was happy it was not a red card. “Then, when the assessor came in, he said there was no problem and that I’d refereed very well. “On the Monday we had our get-together with referees at Warwick University and I was told, ‘Look at this’ and I was still happy with the decision. “I was told to expect a call from the FA compliance department, which I duly got. “When I got the call I said I was still happy — but they said my bosses weren’t happy. I was under pressure to say I hadn’t seen it. “I was furious but no matter what industry you are in, you do what your bosses say. “So he was charged and got three matches.” Halsey said: ““I know it goes on because other referees have told me. “Nothing can happen because nobody can say anything publically as a referee. “But I suspect it does go on. There are outside influences on different situations.” And Halsey, in his autobiography Added Time, compared his own situation with Nzonzi to when Wayne Rooney was banned for swearing at a TV camera during a match at Upton Park in 2011. Halsey wrote: “I was in the same boat as Lee Mason that time when Wayne Rooney swore into a TV camera in a game at West Ham. “No referee would have sent him off for that but Lee came under pressure to report that he hadn’t seen it but would have given a red card if he had seen it. “That way, as in my case, the FA could take retrospective action.” Halsey last night told SunSport that refs are under enormous pressure to fall into the line of the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL). And that the wall of silence from officials means they cannot speak out. The ex-whistler, 55, was debating with fans and pundits on Twitter about Sergio Aguero‘s retrospective suspension for an elbow on West Ham’s Winston Reid. Former England defender Gary Neville used the word “corrupt” on Twitter and called for action. But Halsey reckons refs are now in the same impossible position that he faced when Nzonzi was in the dock. Halsey said: “I was furious, I didn’t want Steven Nzonzi charged. I was not happy. “I’m honest but what can you do when the management tell you to do something? “You can’t speak out but you should not be put in that situation anyway. “It’s obvious why they do it, as some get charged and others don’t.”
Sti Still hazy to me from that lot, ref says one thing, his gaffers happy but say expect a call from FA, says he tells them is happy and FA say his ref bosses not happy leads to a big circle that ends in trial by TV. Just wish replays and close ups and often uninformed punditry were left out of the equation and we could avoid these Pontius Pilate situations.
Well I can't find any footage of the incident at all. One picture and even that's useless because Halsey isn't in the picture so can't gauge his view of the incident. Annoying.
This whole episode just smacks of Fred Karno's If the ref did not see it then it is not in his report so did not happen. Who refers what to who need not matter otherwise offsides etc come into the frame and it will never stop. The Ref Management Committee should be abolished and then the FA cn be the only body who stamps on violent conduct. Personally I would have had a look at Reid's so called injuries from the elbow, but that would require a medical opinion just leading to more twatting about.
I think in this day and age we should use the best of technology to get the right decision. There is simply too much at stake for even good referees to get things wrong.
Truble is he gets it right for 89m and 52 secs but he is a lousy ref because of an off the ball or player cheating drama. The sooner player and coaches stop bleating about refs and stick to getting on with it the better.
Nice thought Nostalgic..but that simply will never happen. Hence the reason for technology...takes the guess work out and camera's can view incidents from many angles...as I said, way too much at stake now to drop points or have players sent off when the is so much money for Champions league qualification and relegation issues.
