Some Man United fan you are, you think we'll do badly this season, yet half our starting XI were playing for Man United last season.
So going back to the topic of the thread...... and ignoring the idiot attention seeker (not Percival for once!)...... If/When Ayala signs that'll give us 3 centre backs of near equal quality that would all comfortably get into a lot of teams at this level, so my question is what on earth is the title of this thread 'Concern' for??? Surely it should be something like '****ing hell our defence looks good!! '
The concern for me is the fact we have two top quality CB's yet seem to be determined to go for another (no problem there) but in other areas we have signed just barely adequate replacements, Adebola and Mckenna.
I know i sort of played ignorance a bit but i do see where he point of this thread comes from, i just disagree entirely that there should be any concern. The thing about the other areas of the pitch is that it's blatently obvious that there's no value in the players you'd get, both in fees and wages so it's pointless wasting money. I'm happy with the bunch we've got at the moment despite there not being many of them, maybe something will come up before the transfer window shuts when the revolving door kicks in with the PL teams shifting all their players and organising their 25 man squads. But i'd be equally happy to give Cairney the oppurtunity to show that he is the creative midfielder we needed and look again in January if things don't work out. Whereas in defence i shudder at the thought of giving McShane a run of games if one of the main 2 gets injured, we all know what mistakes he's capable of despite his ability and effort which he showed against Liverpool
I really can't understand people having a problem with us having 3 good players to fill 2 roles in the team. You need cover for injury/suspension and until McShane is fit the only experianced cover for any medium term injury to any of the back four or either wide player (Brady to right, Dudgeon to left wing) is Dawson. The other element to this is that centre backs work in partnerships just like the central midfield and the forwards do. Who says Hobbs and Chester will form a good partnership? Last time we were promoted our 3 CBs were Turner, Delaney, and Brown. Prior to that we had Delaney and Cort as our recognised starting pair and Delaney showed then he's a good defender at this level. Turner alongside Brown (and then in the PL) showed tha he was also a good defender. Stick the two of them together and they were absolute ****e, which is why we had to bring Brown in. If Hobbs/Chester ends up being like Delaney/Turner and we don't decide that until after the transfer deadline we're going to be scrambling around like crazy. Lets get someone in and give us the 3 pairings now.

Rosenior's is fake too, in fact, I think they're both the same person. As far as I know, the only genuine ones are Mclean, Stewart, Garcia, Atkinson, Oxley, Cullen, Dudgeon, Chester, Evans, Kilbane and Cooper, though some barely ever Tweet.
