So yes we could follow Liechtenstein and not have a national currency if you wish. I'm sure that if it was the Euro we adopted then the question of paying into the European union would become a bit of a mute topic.

I don't think you have kept up with the discussion. I made it clear we wouldn't act like Liechtenstein.

 

You could have kept it topical and used the version where it's the Scottish coast guard that was supposed to have been involved in that mythical exchange.

Bullshit! Barroso has said that the EU would look at an application from an independent Scotland. Whether it would be successful or not we have no way of knowing. The situation is unclear. Therefore your categorical statement you know they wouldn't be accepted is incorrect.

They could look at an application from anyone. They'd still find it doesn't meet the criteria, and would be vetoed by several member states.
