So the poll results are tenuous? Why do you think you know better than the polls?

The West will change it's view of Russia when it changes its ways.

The simple fact is that a broken EU suits Putin's political aims. Which is why he has actively been talking about a smaller Europe.

As I've said, divide and conquer.

Pete, it's really very simple. Whether that poll is correct, or not, the SNP - that's the Scottish NATIONALIST Party, in case you'd forgotten, holds more than twice the number of seats in their Parliament as any other single party.

Never mind what a snap may tell you, their support of the SNP shows that there is most certainly considerable support for an independent Scotland.

They would never vote for it with the oil price where it currently is, though.

The support for the SNP tells you that a lot of people like a protest vote without the disaster of leaving the UK.

Your deluding yourself, Pete, if you think that Sturgeon couldn't secure a yes vote under the right circumstances.

Of course they wouldn't vote to leave if they believed it would be a disaster. I would have thought that was self evident. What you don't seem able to grasp is that Sturgeon is capable of convincing them that it won't be a disaster!

Well we only have the referendum result and the polls to go on. Anything else is pure conjecture.

The referendum in Scotland showed a heavy majority vote in favour of remaining in the EU. Some 63% voted to stay. The U.K. is leaving.

The SNP has 63 seats in the Scottish Parliament, more than twice the number of their nearest opposition.

    Work it out for yourself!....

People do like a protest vote Pete. Even when the vote doesn't represent the thing they're protesting against.

    Try a salad.

The EU referendum was to vote to leave the EU not to leave the UK. The Scottish referendum result was to remain in the UK.

Pete, I'll try and explain this in simple terms so maybe you'll understand.

Firstly, the Scots voted heavily for remaining in the EU. Their wishes now count for nothing as England overturned that wish.

The SNP - one again, a NATIONALIST ( is this getting through??) party, are by far the largest in the their parliament.

No, they won't vote to leave under current circumstances as the oil price is still far lower than it was a couple of years ago. They won't vote for an early Xmas

However, if you think the Scots have any love for us English, or for the good old union that they were forced into in the first place, you're deluding yourself.

Pete's demonstrating just how simple and muddled his mind is by not being able to get his head around the SNP's end game whilst rubbing his tiddler in celebration of Farage's UKIP achieving their end game (despite the fact Farage is already disappointed that foreigners are being allowed to stay in the UK. His German wife is probably equally disappointed).

The Scots voted to stay in the UK. The UK voted to leave the EU. No amount of ranting and raving will change those two votes.

Pete, you're a numbskull! You see what you want to see, and totally miss the blindingly bleeding obvious that's right in front of your face.

I'll try to Simplify it further. The majority of Scots feel no loyalty to the union, and certainly none to the English. They will vote in their own best interests.

Check out his Facebook page, he looks and dresses like a hobo. Mr Success not only lives in a slum and works out of a garage but tracky bottoms and a soiled cardy are his walking the dog Sunday best.

    Aaaarrggghhhh!!...I give up!..

They had their wish to remain in the EU denied. The SNP is by a long way the largest party in Scotland. An out and out nationalist party that actively campaigns for independence.

They voted to remain in 2014 because Cameron had them convinced that the UK would remain part of the EU. It didn't!

    Understand now?

As I've said repeatedly, they will vote for independence when the feel the time is right. There is very little love for the union in Scotland.

They voted to stay in the UK because they wanted to stay in the UK.
You seem to think that a vote for one thing is really a vote for another: Scotland voted to stay in the UK (NSIS: Scotland voted to stay in the EU); UK voted to leave the EU (NSIS: Scotland voted to leave the UK).
