good post, i think with it being a long season and IF we have a bit of a cup run then you do need a full squad, look how many midfielders we have (yes some are not gonna play) but we have more cover now, would rather have this than panic when you lose 2 players before a game
The thing is, everyone says Hobbs is really fit, defenders don't get injured so much if they don't have dodgy legs. Don't remember Chester getting injured last season too because despite being small he is more of a player that tries to anticipate and get there before the defender rather than having to push him around and put tackles in on them. He also leaves the more physical guy to his partner who is built to deal with him so he is just tasked with facing the poacher which he does comfortably. Don't sign Ayala, it is pointless... Chester will get dropped despite him being our best centre back. Wouldn't mind Ayala coming in if it was certain it would be Chester + 1 other, but it wont. It'll be Hobbs + 1 other.
I'm sorry that's just wrong. Hobbs has already been injured in pre-season. Just because Chester may not have been injured last season does not mean he wont be this season. As people have already said, there are also suspensions etc to contend with. If either Hobbs or Chester got injured who would you rather come into the team Ayala, Macca (when he's fit in 2-3 months time) or one of our youngsters who has very little first team experience. You need strength in depth
I just think it will ruin our season when Rosenior gets injured and Chester gets put at right back. Would prefer us to sign another right back instead.
It's not his age that concerns us, it's the inexperience and how he's completely unproven. I'd be willing to give him a chance but if Rosie gets injured i'd prefer to see Chester at right back if Ayala signs and plays in the centre with Hobbs. The difference between Ayala and East is we've all seen Ayala prove himself at this level.
If Liverpool wanted him they would have offered him a new contract. They have said they are willing to let him go and would rather get a fee than him going for free next summer
You don't want him, his contract will expire at the end of the season, you're not going to play him, you're not offering him a new deal, you want rid, he will be a City player by the end of next week. Now **** off and collect your benefits, you condescending bin dipping thicko.
Question is Does Chester offer more at CB or can he offer more Than Mckenna/Harper in the DM role? Reads the game very well, and uses the ball well, i think in time he can develop into a good Defensive midfielder.
