You know what, I think that was my motive in opening the post. These guys want a club for fun and maybe contacts and maybe brand and globalisation but there could be balance sheet asset diversification benefit as well. So hard and soft reasons from a business perspective. History and common sense shows it could be a major arse wipe for them if they fail (the size of the current premier league rights deal blurs that argument a little) so I think they are eyes wide open and customer ready. That is good for them and us. But then I also believe my wife loves that thing I do with the
A change is a change. They might be good for us, they might not be. We'll find out in the fullness of time. Regardless, they're taking over a club in better shape than the Allams took over. They're taking over a club in its current shape 100% because of the Allams. Sadly theres a minority who will deny this and who won't be able to move on, which is ironic in some ways. Bottom line is, as Hull City fans we owe a fair bit to the Allams for our club, but it'll be easier to sneer and spit venom rather than be the bigger man. These same people are welcoming, with arms wide open, and tongues ready, people they know nothing about.
More like in spite of the Allams rather than because of........ The new owners will have had to pay much more for the club than it was worth due to the massive debt burden it had to Allamhouse.....it could be said the club was in a worse state as the club debt had almost doubled since they took over .....at least the fans were united before the takeover I welcome the new owners just to see the back of the Allams.....but will judge them based on their actions in the fullness of time
These "guys" want this club to launder money. The want to get money out of China. No other reason for buying us. We may see some benefit like Man cIty have done we may not. But don't pretend there's any altruistic motives here.
Not all Chinese owners are like the one at Villa, chucking cash around like confetti. Look at West Brom for instance, nobody decent signed and Pulis livid.
point proved ... when you look at the trouble in 2010 compared to what they are selling , they have done a good job (yes they ****ed up on a number of things ) but purely from a business point of view .. job done
No one knows what the new owners plans are. They could be the ones to propel us into the realms of a global entity, or they could simply buy us with a view to selling on for a quick profit. How dare you even think like this, Chaz you bad lad.
Cmon mate, that's crazy talk. They're not the Allams, who got us to an FA Cup final, promoted twice, best team we've ever seen, best manager we've ever had, and set us up so we're in a better position than we've ever been. Obviously we should be prostrate waiting for these new messiahs to arrive and fondle us. I mean, how could they possibly be worse than the Evil Allams?
Rumour is a consortium including Vladimir Romanov, John Gurney, George Reynolds, Ken Richardson and a resurrected John Batchelor are in the market for a club.
What the **** you doing up at 6:55 on a non footy day ffs? Btw, I'm chuffed they're going too, I'm just more suspicious about the incoming owners than I've been about any previous ones.
When you read the Swans board, who had the best set up ever according to some on here, you realise how few owners are liked. All comes down to money at the end of the day.
