Agree re Amartey, would have liked another face for volume of games/potential injuries that's all. Overall a great window, Silva would have been great but was overpriced

Really surprised we didn't get another one - we were linked with Marcel Tisserand who since joined a random German team for £3m.

Also am surprised that we didn't get another DM - we were linked with a lot of them but none came in and the closest we came was an enquiry for a CM in Adrien.

Interestingly James and Benouone didn't move - both are lacking match fitness but have shirt numbers and played in the reserves so they could have a place in the team.

There is no emergency loan window anymore for the football league so no one can leave

I think we lack of movement on signing another midfielder meant we didn't let Matty James go out on loan

I suspect we might try to agree terms with Yohan Benalouane about terminating his contract as its clear he has no future here and no one is queuing up to sign him

On the African cup of nations

Nigeria didn't qualify to Ahmed Musa wont be going but we will lose Riyad Mahrez, Islam Slimani, Daniel Amartey and Jeff Schlupp assuming they all get called up or don't develop suspect injuries <whistle>

Wouldn't be surprised if we went in for another midfielder in January, probably return for Adrien Silva- we seem to do that when we miss summer targets, which should lessen the blow of losing Amartey. We're well covered in other areas- Kapustka and Gray will help on the wings, and Ulloa and Okazaki in attack. Starting to see promising signs from both Mendy and Amartey, and hopefully by January James will have recovered. With the likes of Amartey, Hernandez, Kapustka, and Schlupp, we also have some versatility, as they can play multiple positions. I'm still a little concerned we sold De Laet without getting a replacement, but if Simpson gets suspended or injured we could probably play Hernandez, Amartey, or even Kapustka there for a game or two.

This was the reason why Adrien didn't join us.

Also I agree about not having another RB - here are the players we have in each position http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leicester-city/kadernachposition/verein/1003

Is our reserve RB any good?

All those possible RB replacements are far too slow to cover pacey PL wingers. We will get murdered with Hernandez/Wasi at RB!

RB was the only positioned I really wanted us to sort this summer (a part from keeping our whole squad) - I am a little concerned I have to say

... personally I didn't think Hernandez did too bad at right back ... but we don't lack cover if we don't get too hung up on favoured kicking foot ... Fuchs, Chilwell, Kaputska, Schlupp and Albrighton could all do a job there ...

Some rumours are saying Leicester will sign Morgan Schneiderlin to replace Danny Drinkwater if he returns to Man Utd. It's somehow a good plan for me.

Sounds like a really crappy plan for me - both are different types of players and Schneiderlin doesn't have the passing range or vision to replace Drinkwater.

Schneiderlin alongside Drinkwater is a good idea however...

On another note - can a mod change the name of this thread to January Transfer Window.

This Drinkwater thing won't materialise, they already look like fools buying back Pogba for 100x what they sold him for, they aren't going to bring back another for 30x what they sold him for.

Tbh, wouldn't sell him for £30m, worth way more to us.

Drinkwater is from Manchester and is a Man Utd fan - if they come back for him, I'm not sure if he would reject them.

Sad fact is that even though we are the champions, he would more likely get into the England squad being their player.

The same with Schmeichel, but hes not going to go there to sit on the bench behind De Gea.

It certainly will be a worry at the end of the season if we can't offer champions league football any more.

Claudio asked them for 1 more season and im glad (bar 1) they have given him that. It could be a big rebuilding job next summer.

He could be as looking at their midfield, they need someone that can sit deep and pass - Herrera played that role against us but he is ultimately a winger and we didn't pressure him enough.
