Kinda don't want this international break to end, going to a new look arsenal side with a fully fit squad is pretty daunting.

And, given the truth of your last statement, the Buddha tells us to deal with the world as it is not as you wish it to be. So, long contracts to maximise the money we get when they do go. Use that money on more prospecting.

Stek was OK...had no problem with him as our back up keeper. However, at Saints he was up against Forster (who himself has room for improvement).

The boards strategy seems to change with the wind.............They have done well to get the core of the first team to extend their contracts. While time will tell hopefully they have brought the right ones in to maintain the status quo. Including this manager..........I think we all accept that any new manager in the premier league without EPL experience is a gamble. Equally any new players....as for the % success of those players.......my guess would be....1 in 5 a gem.......2 in 5 average.........the rest rubbish, or at best below average. My opinion differs from some I agree.......but I have a feeling quite few see it from my view too............

I still can't help imagining a scenario where Van Dijk, Tadic, Long & Austin are out injured for a couple of weeks. The bench will look mighty weak if that happened.

It does not bare thinking about. But that's why its so important that Claude gets the formation right, we cannot afford to waste any of our class players. We must optimize them, and in the process keep them happy.

I don't see much change in our plan, we are always going to sell an asset when it reaches a certain stage. But what has bugged me is how we got bullied this summer. We made it far too easy for Spurs & Pool to come in a take what they wanted. Its easy to say the players wanted out, but so what, in Vic's case it was £11m, peanuts, would have been worth pissing them off just for fun at that price. And Mane, well rather than just selling for what Pool thought he was worth, maybe we should consider what we are missing tax. With two years left, we should have played hard ball.....like we did in 2014 & 2015.

I can't help imagining a scenario where we have Leicester's luck from last year, have almost no injuries and storm the league.

Yes, all gambles. A couple of them were more calculated though.

Two positive and one negative perhaps in the boards eyes..........Can they afford that at this level?

It's difficult to find a club who wouldn't struggle with four of their key players missing.

My main concern is the diamond. I just don't see it working for a full 90 minutes. If puel ditches it and goes for 433 he will then be playing his 2nd choice formation. I would rather have a manager playing his first choice set up and switching as plan B.

If we are bottom of the league by December I will take plan B. Not being negative, just a "what if".
