Once upon a time; The manager of a football club that was really successful left! The football club didn't know what to do! They thought, "we'll get another jock, they're always good managers". But, the new jock wasn't what they expected! He huffed and he puffed and bought a strange man with wooly hair who went around elbowing people in the face. After a short while the football team decided that their new jock wasn't very good after all, so they gave him lots and lots of money to **** off! "What will we do now", they panicked! "I know" said Teddy, one of the big nobs of the football club. "We will hire a Dutchman" "I know one with a dodgy voice and barnet, but he assures me he's **** hot!" The Dutchman arrived with great fanfare. "Give me ****loads of money and I will make you great again" he proclaimed. Teddy and the rest of the big nobs at the club were really impressed, so they gave the Dutchman lots and lots of dosh. The Dutchman went crazy and bought a German pig herder and another Dutchman who ran around in circles to very little effect. And lots and lots of other players who all ran around banging into each other. The football club was going nowhere! They had spent hundreds of millions and the promised CL land was still not in reach. "This Dutchman is a useless spendthrift tosspot", they cried. "What will we do" they wailed!.. Teddy made himself very scarce and pointed fingers in all directions. "Nothing to do with me, weren't my fault" he protested. Eventually, some men came from a land far away across a big sea, they were now the owners of the football club. "WTF is going on here, you idiotic bunch of twats" they cried! "We've spent ****loads of our money and you ****s have spunked it all up the wall". The inevitable happened and the Dutchman with the dodgy barnet was given ****loads of money to **** off too. Enter a man from the far south, from a place called Chavland!... To be continued!,...
I think it's relevant to the smaller clubs. We've probably been one of the biggest spenders outside the top clubs in the last 2/3 years. Yet we've sold around 8/9 players for well over £100 million in that time.
All 3 promoted teams to stay up? Don't see that. Still think Hull and Burnley will struggle with at least 1 going down. I actually Sunderland will be okay too...
Hull have some Premier league experience, but I think Burnley might struggle as the season progresses. It all depends on how many points they can get on the board before christmas. When injuries and fatigue take their toll, then they'll be up against it.
Aye Hull, despite their off field problems, have looked very good. 2 wins, and they took United down to the wire, losing only to a Jose time goal. If they can pick up another 2-3 wins before Christmas, they are good. Burnley may go down in place of Sunderland. I think Palace's signings will flop.
£27m for Benteke is a **** load, massive gamble. Personally I think Palace will be okay , they've got enough quality in the squad, although they will miss Bolaise.
I think Palace have enough goals in them to be okay tbh. Wouldn't suprise me if Pardew was replaced at some point though. Hull have had a good start yeah but plenty of promoted teams have done that and then struggled later on. I think Watford could struggle this year.
All the quality they have in their squad is negated by the fact that they have the most incompetent and ****test manager in PL history,
I think Pardew is average. Palace looked really good for the first half of last season, but then sank like a stone and only just narrowly avoided being caught up in a relegation battle. They still got to the FA cup final though.
