To be fair, I think the fans of quite a few clubs will say they are disappointed. I'm thinking West Ham, Everton, maybe Arsenal. So at least we're not alone.
I keep seeing people saying "we are in Europe this is the perfect time for us to push on" As if being in the Europa is a huge factor for players. We have signed players with guaranteed European football at their former club and they still came. The biggest factor for us is the PL which hopefully we will be in next year. Players will still want to sign for a PL team regardless of finishing 5th or 17th
That's begging the question of whether it's a "trick". There are repeated posts on here that say our "luck" is going to run out and I answer the same. If it's not "luck" or a "trick" and is, as I believe, a well thought out way of running then the answer might be "yes, we can carry on running this way forever". I'd probably add "and why would we stop?" as well. Vin
“Bringing Charlie here is a show of the club’s commitment to its plan for future success through investment in talent with a desire to grow and develop.” Read more at http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/arti...thampton-qpr-2904717.aspx#3XK9hBKKQ3xJPXAD.99 Strange, don't see anything there about him being Pelle's replacement. Almost as if a bit of revisionist history has taken place since Pelle left? But we should never take notice of what is said when players join, either from them or the club, as it's 100% male cow pooh
It's touching that some are concerned by my well being. I would like to put on the record that I'm fine and actually in quite a good mood today. I just had sex too. I can go into details about that, if you wish (possibly with video). However, can we just answer posts with a response to what's been said? Or at least an attempt at humour?
If any club ever, in the history of football, said "Player X has been brought in to replace player Y (who hasn't left yet and it still under contract)," I'd be astounded. Doesn't make it not true, though. Vin
Only slightly concerned about Right Back as that was a position that was our achilles heel last season, but maybe one of the kids will come through.
We've done really well in the window. Hojberg and Boufal are two very high quality players that any club in the league would happily take. And I like Redmond, he's young, quick and english. I dont think we will tear up the league this season but I would expect us to be playing good exciting football in the latter half. Honestly, I think most people who are underwhelmed its because they don't know the players or the manager. All will become clear in the next 2 months for good or for ill.
I honestly don't see how anyone can say we've done 'really well'. I was going to go for 'ok' as I'm happy with players we've signed at the prices quoted. However I've had to go for poor because the club made all the noises at the beginning of the Summer about strengthening the squad for an assault on Europe etc. and we simply haven't done that, no matter what way you look at it. I still think we're short up top, and particuarly in DM.
I've not seen anyone say they're not happy with who we've brought in, it's the numbers that's an issue for most no?
I voted done well. About time we put our money where our mouth is and actually gave the kids a chance.
