A masterstroke by our erstwhile manager - WHY play with width when there's no one in the middle if the wide players can get their crosses in???

 

Just found this in the Telegraph, though it doesn't specify which leagues can do this.

If Chamakh was thought of as a serious option before 23:01 yesterday, we'd have let Lafferty go...

 

Not sure on Chamakh, but we are totally desperate.

We did play with a 4-1-4-1 against Brum, Cromer and had Jerome been fit it could have worked. Sadly, it didn't. Marouane Chamakh would give us other options as a striker and as an impact sub. His strength is in link-up play, but he's also an excellent header of the ball if we're chasing a game. Also, unlike McCormack and Rhodes, he wouldn't create problems in the dressing room. For a sign on fee and his wages, he could provide a useful option.

 

I thought we played 4-6 ?

 

The key lies in the puctuation of the line-up DD!

As i could only listen to the match, I also followed it on Whoscored and their man at the match had it as 4-1-4-1 as well.
