Players used to jump at the chance to play our way of football 4 years ago but now we can only attract players who there is not that much interest in and players who have had a chance of returning have point blank shunned us and preferred to join our rivals. They obviously dont think the set up here is any good and Bony's snub is a big kick in the teeth as he would have been on loan and the situation wont effect him but he would rather help stoke than come back and help us....
My favourites were both against the Jocks..... John Taylor at Murrayfield and my good friend Paul Thorburn's monster penalty at Cardiff Arms Park
Anyone remember Denayer ? His name popped up some weeks ago. The Swans' were on the verge of signing him, and there was no Denyering that many here were ecstatic at the prospect. Well he has just signed for Sunderland.
Looks like the players are in place and the actual " rebuild " begins . I got no probs with the team as is , it's getting them up to speed quickly that I fear . Regardless if Guidolin is in charge or he is forced , like Laudrup , to hand over his team in November after a very harsh schedule and I feel Guidolin will be running or handing over a ready to go team and we will breeze from there . Good luck to Guido.....and Curtis , they will need a bit of it up to Halloween .
Worst transfer window since we been in the prem. one signing that offers any excitement....Baston. Some supposedly promusing youngsters but most likely too early for them to make much of an impact. Lost two key players in ayew and williams. Now lack any depth. Be surprised if we are not cast adrift by january with too much to do to repair the damage. Time will tell....but not looking forward to the season ahead.
Team looks much weaker manager clueless chairman who is gutless the owners non existent What a great combination for this season....
Only time will tell as its far too early to come out with comments like this. My view is that we have at least two players for each position and our main striker hasnt even played yet! As Mark Twain sort of said "news of the Swans demise are greatly exaggerated"
Happy with the ins, happy with the outs. Glad we haven't paid silly money. Looking forward to the season.
IMO we've been massively conned by the American investors or should I say asset strippers. No investment had been made what so ever. In thier first window they have made a whopping 11 million in transfers as well as ship out all of our high earners. On top of that you could also include the money for the TV rights. I can't express how angry I am with all the bullshit we've been told.
You have to wonder don't you, first transfer window since they took over. All that huff and puff when they took over in their first interview and what happens a nice little profit for them. Where as some think the squad is good, I think we are a lot weaker than last, My whole seasons hopes rest on Baston getting some goals. Weaker at the back, about the same in midfield although I cant help but thinking now Fer has his contract his performances will go backwards. We look tidy out wide, but again with no strengthening. I cant get away from it but we have just opened up our whole defence with the sale of Ash and not adequately replacing him, we look like conceding a goal everytime a side attacks. I would start Mawson next game as he can not possibly be worse than Amat and Fernandez. So thanks to the Yanks we have a great season in front of us probably permanently in the bottom 3. In our first 3 games I can not help think we just look like Aston Villa of last year. Not bad players, but no shape, no spirit, no leadership either on the pitch or off the pitch. I have no doubt the same fate will be with us as was with them last year. We are a shambles. I don't care whether people think I am being negative, that's the way I feel after seeing how bad we have been in our first 3 games and our dealings in the transfer window, there was not even a glimpse of anything positive.
