Dont think the Spurs fans rate him at all. We could do worse though, namely Bridge.

Would never come to us,he is 1st choice at Spurs. Liam Ridgewell I tell thee, he's the future!!!

  4. I don't give a **** about what Spurs fans say, i only care about what I've seen myself. If he's not good enough for a CL side, i don't care, he's good enough for a mid table team like us.

He's looked great every time i've seen him play.

I'll say no thanks. Poor defender IMO. We need someone solid at defending, not good at getting forward.

Agreed on Assou-Ekotto, not convinced about Ridgewell though.

Felix Bastians of SC Freiburg is a good option for LB.

Young (23), cheap (cost 2.3 million Euro two years ago) and decent enough when I've seen him play.

Also. SC Freiburg are... how to put nicely... ****e and in need of money.

Be a massive step down from Enrique. They also have him as first choice so its difficult to see how it would happen? Not Ridgewell either, I want to maintain our attacking full back policy. Plus I think Ridgewell is poo, sorry Jock!

  10. I've not heard any bad opinions about him from Spurs fans, and i doubt you've seen an official poll asking the entire Spurs fan base about him. All we can go on is what we've seen, i've seen quite a few games with him playing, and he's impressed me. It's ignorant to just take the opinion of small selection of a fan base, and accept it as the truth also mate. Neither of us have seen him week in week out.

I go on a lot of boards and the general consensus on there's is they need full backs (and a top class striker) to progress, I've also seen a number of discussions where he split opinion, but generally they dont rate him. Put this thread on the spurs board and ask them.

Wow, just googled him hoping to find a forum debate about him or something and saw this http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/may/01/benoit-assou-ekotto-tottenham-hotspur

EDIT: "I don't understand why everybody lies. The president of my former club Lens, Gervais Martel, said I left because I got more money in England, that I didn't care about the shirt. I said: 'Is there one player in the world who signs for a club and says, Oh, I love your shirt?' Your shirt is red. I love it. He doesn't care. The first thing that you speak about is the money.

  15. Last i heard, Toulouse have rejected 2 bids from us, one for 6m and one for 7m because they're expecting interest from the top clubs like Lille and PSG and therefore they expect bigger offers for him.

Your right bout Ridgewell from the point of view he ain't great going forward. However, a defenders first job is to defend and he can do that very well!!!

He's a cracking player and all the Spuds I speak to seem to rate him, he's just a bit mental and is only in it for the money.
