Done Ok. Not great, but ok. Other clubs spending loads not so much of an issue as I think as prices are highly inflated in a lot of cases. We'll regret not buying a striker I think.
I've gone for poorly, purely on the basis that we sold all of the goals from the team last year and have simply not replaced them. If cash were tight I'd understand but it's anything but.
I voted for the "Done Poorly". I think considering we lost 3 very good first team players (1 of those I could class as exceptional) and we have the added games in the Europa league, this was the window to not only try to replace those who had gone, but to add MORE quality to the first team squad with 2 or 3 other additions. I personally don't think our current crop of youngsters are good enough. We are not limited in the money we have to spend (well, relatively) and considering we have a new manager, the club should have backed him with more signings. If it's the case he didn't want any... well, that's another can of worms for another day.
I voted for the middle one....nothing wrong with the players we've bought, but think we are a couple short....especially a striker. Not sure why this poll matters though.
I had to vote poorly, i like the players we have bought in but taking the window on a whole i would have said that we needed those players we bought in without taking into account the players that have moved on. This is possibly one of the biggest seasons in our clubs history and i feel we have gone backwards quite a bit based on what we started last season with. I hope i'm proved wrong but i can't see how we can cope with the amount of football we have this season with the players we have, i can see it being poor in the cups and the league which for me is a great shame.
I've gone for the middle as it's too early to say in my opinion. We've only played 3 games after all. Are we taking bets on how many threads will be created about the transfer window? I don't think we've got enough yet.
Was going to vote ok but went for poor. 3cb's and only one consistently fit striker. Think top 10 would be very good.
Voted OK, but only just. Think we will seriously miss Mane and I predict that he won't be inconsistent at all at Liverpool and will be their best player. Hopefully Bouffal can fill his shoes, but atm looking st our squad the only player you could say the big teams may want in 12 months time is VVD (obviously too early for the new signings) and that is a first in recent times imo. Also means that our business model of buy low sell high is a bit ****ed if none of the new signings look like CL level players
We always buy cheap replacements. Cheap doesn't always equal poor...especially in the crazy world that is football. Big clubs buy expensive players all the time...then struggle to get rid of them. We've had a couple of players like that, but in general we do good business. Plenty of clubs would do well to learn from us.
Yes, perhaps the question should be "Will the club confound the doubters again this season?". I don't know if they will this time but I think that they have earned the benefit of the doubt for the time being...and then there is always January....
Yeah but I can't see the trick working for ever. I hope it does and I haven't been slagging anyone off on social media because I remember the 90s pretty well, just my honest feelings. Also, have we replaced Pelle?
