There were strikers out there you could have got no worries there were defenders and CM players out there you could have got too but there were no bids out there for Taylor did someones cunning plan go tits up who knows. just a thought!!!!
Yip, just until we finalise the contract with the Wallies. I'm his agent now & the tricky part is that he's not a tradesman. Looks like we might get him a job in the Wallies tea shed though, as he can't afford to live on the 30 bob wages on offer (original offer was 10 bob, so I did good! ).
sounds about right to me mukka good enought to be your Captain but only good enough to be our tea boy morning m8ty
I think we are being a bit unfair on the deadline day situation. For a change we did most of our business well before deadline day. If we had waited and brought Roofe and Hernandez in with a few hours to go would we have been jumping for joy? We got them in nice and early and were not held to ransom on prices. Wood is another getting a bit of a bashing, yes he misses a few but all strikers at this level do. We held on to the best LB in the division, so what if he goes next year or we review it in December, it is no different to the loans we have. If every player now plays to their best ability we haven't a bad squad. Monk now needs to play each player in their best position, he needs to sort out set pieces on the training ground and he needs to accept Green was a mistake. What did we end up with, 10 new players, seriously, what more did we expect. Yes a striker would be good but some feel we wasted £3m on Wood so who would you have signed and for how much??

I clearly said I didn't know anything about him and hope he proves to be decent. V. concerned about an attacking midfielder that didn't get games and when he did couldn't score goals in decent quantity. Stop making it up. I am not fishing but my keep net is full of cheese this morning.
Whoah there. We now have only three centre backs at the club and two of them are loanees. Add this to playing in front of Rob Green and alongside wantaway fullback Taylor. On what planet does look a good idea?
He's not really an attacking midfielder, he was sometimes played there by Bournemouth but his preferred position is holding midfield. He's also been described as box2box. Or bollox... 1 of the 2. Seen very little of him to be honest, so can't comment on whether he's any good, but I wouldn't be judging him on goals and assists. It's about whether he's any better than Murphy or Dave for the type of football monk wants to play.
Afternoon All Bamba's gone then.... I hope that Monk is smart enough to have somebody waiting in the wings as a replacement
So last season we had 3 CBs - Bamba, Bellusci & Cooper. We also had a wantaway FB - Byram Behind them was the much maligned (including yourself) Silvestri (who can hopefully replace Green. Are you saying this is not an improvement?
