Konta took 3rd set 6-2. Peronkova never recovered from the long delay after Konta's illness. She only got back in the game because Konta was ill in 2nd set, so Konta was the better player, but tough on her.

My view is, get someone in to clean it - I've had a recommendation of someone who loves cleaning ovens. She's going to want to marry mine!

Some questions being asked about the length of Konta's medical time-out but I wonder if there are different rules when the player's health not just their fitness is being reviewed. No matter, she's through and showed a hell of a lot of guts and determination. Chuffed for both her and especially Kyle who'll be in his first Grand Slam third round. He's playing John Isner next who is definitely beatable.

Just used bicarb to clean the grout in the bathroom - living in a red clay area the grout soon turns an orangey colour. Using a toothbrush and some bicarb paste it's come up near-white again and with little effort. Magic stuff, as is white vinegar for cleaning grease.

Can't remember who but someone on here recommended 11.22.63 the TV series. I thought I would read the book first, which was excellent, only to watch the TV series in 2 days and be so disappointed - It was completely different to the book! I know books and films/TV are different, but this one was so different. Anyone else thought the same?

My thoughts exactly. I watched it right after the (excellent) book and was horribly disappointed.

I grew a beard a couple of years ago so stopped wet shaving, still got a can of shaving foam sitting there doing nothing...might as well try that rather than that toxic Mr Muscle stuff.

Snap. Great book, poor adaptation. Watched an excellent film tonight called The Kings of Summer, low budget independent coming of age movie that was really different, excellent young cast and just a cracking movie. Guy called Moisés Arias plays a character called Biaggio - superb actor although he'll never get a lead role as he's slightly, lets say, unconventional looking. My 13 year old watched it with me and was enthralled, as was I.

Thought the book was amazing and the TV series okay. Never expected that the series would be as good as the book - not sure I've ever seen something on screen that was as good as any book - but reckoned if you watched the series first it was okay in its own right.
And if it gets people reading the book, then, hopefully, it's a success!

Was me. Didn't read the the book. Consequently, I thought the TV series was absolutely fine.

I invariably watch before I read, so to speak. Watching a Film or TV series never spoils a Book, whereas it invariably does if you do it the other way round. I realised that donkey's years ago.

Yeah I like the series as well, but then I didn't read the book.

Never let a movie ruin a good book.

Sometimes I've thought when watching a film...this would make a good book. Have never thought the converse.

I read The Talented Mr Ripley recently and thought the film was much better. Book was too drawn out.

I particularly like the one about the Royal Jelly and the other about the frozen leg of lamb. He had a wicked sense of the macabre!
