Disappointed overall. We were aiming at a level of player who we just couldn't convince to come and join the 'project'. I'm sure lessons have been learned here, but I think we're now left a bit short in certain areas. However sometimes a slightly smaller group can create a stronger team ethic
You think it improved? Only time will tell, yo are still stuck with the Sahko bad apple and no decent LB.....but I guess it's all opinion.
Aye, true enough. Just a bit concerned about our lack of quality up front if Lukaku gets injured tbh.
The pad from Sheff U????? We have January and the summer window. Koeman did temper expectations with his talk f needing a year or two to sort the side how he wants
LB is an issue for me. Klopp isn't so concerned and he's a better judge than us. Or perhaps like Everton a target wasn't available and we didn't just buy for the sake of it? Sakho could have gone, but on the flip side he might be saying 'hold on boss I'm committed and I'll prove I can put the work in and behave, I'm happy to wait and prove myself' - who knows? but I'm happy he stayed, the bottom line is he was getting sold/loaned for acting like a nobhead on too many occasions! If he get's his head down and just trains and lives for football, he'll be a beast of a defender. Time will tell I guess. We have Matip for CB who will be a starter from now, looks the real deal, has a bit of everything about his game. Our best business was Mane, makes us such a dangerous team. Personally looking long term the Grujic chap is the one to watch, although he was not technically signed this window.
Very true Getting rid of so many of our fringe players will be a massive boost for us, not just financially.
As already said it's all about opinion I'm sure that certain Liverpool fans you can probably guess who I'm referring to would be just as critical if we spent 150m as with rival fans we will never be able to do right... Personally I think we have improved just as LFC fans think that Klopp has improved Liverpool? I have seen quotes of us buying a West Ham sub to replace Niasse for instance which is just silly really after all Sturrridge was a Sub before he came to you...I'm not saying Valencia is going to be great but IMO he's better than bloody Kone?? Gana the guy from Villa is looking great so far and Williams is not a defender with potential that makes mistakes so for me he's a good but shorter term replacement then Bolasie is someone who can spice up our attack a treat you guys have been run ragged by him before.... I can't see how anyone thinks we haven't improved tbh? We will not be finishing bottom half under Koeman IMO
IMO mate they haven't bought a LB because the transfer commitee don't think they need one.... There are certain beauts that are bleating on about our **** window that need to take in that their ideal squad that's going to finish top 3 easily just got bummed 2-0 by Burnley not a fortnight ago lol... I think you know who that's aimed at ha ha
A stopgap? A third choice? One thing for sure, we didn't spunk money on him and Rhino has only good words on the lad at Sheff U. So who knows, maybe a few U23's will be given the chance? If we are slipping from EL qualification then a January buy?
The lad from Sheff U has never played at a level beyond League 1, so I can't see him being anything other than a prospect who'll join the U23's this season. Valencia makes no sense to me, but Gueye didn't either, so I'll pipe down until I've seen how Koeman intends using him. If we're anywhere near in Jan I could see us having a go to try and push on.
Funny that lol but i think you'll find none of us did it we are happy he didnt come lol so nope not bitter
Sorry to hear about the way Sissoko has behaved yesterday. But my opinion is that you lot dodged a bullet there. Wiki page above is pretty spot on... And good luck to you Everton boys and girls.
