Welcome to the darkside. I have been expecting you. Once Taylor wanted out, my opinion was we should have got rid. He now can't win, everyone knows he wants out. Poor management, and should have been sorted with a transfer or longer contract. Imo
Ayling, Taylor, Bartley, Jannson, Bridcutt, O'Kane, Roofe, Antonnson, Sahki. Is a good backbone for a team. It lacks a prolific striker. Maybe we should now all try and look on the positive side as this is what we have until either the manager is sacked or he brings in a couple in January. get behind the team and dont slag off players.
We need five prolific strikers to make up for the ****e goalkeepers we have. Is that positive enough?
Are there worse keepers in the Championship? yes plenty so accept we're a championship side and what we have is what we use. We need goals but one thing thats different under Monk is that we are creating chances for Wood. last season and season before we were only getting 4 chances or shots per game. We have to get behind Wood and hope his luck changes as he is a confidence player. Have you ever known a striker hit the woodwork more than wood, millimeters away every game
I'm not fully off the fence just yet. There is a part of me that doesn't want to give up hope of something positive happening. One of my worries is Green, I think his confidence is low and the defence are nervous because of him. I would like to ask, do we have a defensive coach? I would love G.Graham to come back and act as the defensive coach. I know we weren't great to watch, but we didn't concede many.
transfer speculation doesn't mean we think we are signing players. Maybe some people like to see what the options are and who we are being linked with. It is a footy forum first remember
If he doesn't give 100% let him rot in the under 21s,do you think Liverpool or who ever will still want a player who hasn't played in 12 months. How many of the top championship sides are letting players dictate when they go ? maybe no big offers came in,can just see your posts now if we had let him go for £1 million or so.
Sometimes you talk total crap,Cellino was going to take a gun around clubs to force them to buy players, but the police stopped him.
You seem to have forgotten about the other dross that the club have publically said they need to move on. Not shifting them after publically proclaiming their crapness is piss poor administration IMVHO.
I have no means to know what if any offers were made, or what if any value we placed upon him. What we do know is he wants out and we are stuck with a wantaway player with all that entails. Irefer the honourable gentleman to the opinion I ventured previously about that situation. Cellino says the buck stops with him. For once he is right!
Worse keepers? Have you seen him? His head is shot (cant see him ever not buckling under pressure now). Apart from Silvestri name three more. that are worse.
Chesh, that doesn't help us this season or with his future valuation, in fact someone is more likely to take a punt on him if he becomes cheap enough. The fact that you and chippy are debating whether we've done well or not to have kept Taylor tells you all you need to know about our transfer activity.
Indeed Plus (and I know this next bit is a hard concept for happy clappies to understand): Our league positions this season and last would indicate he aint as good as some want or need to believe. given our window we will finish below last season now, I have no doubt about it. Tell me only if I get it wrong.
Tbh, that could have been said of most of the latest academy products, our league finishes meant I never quite understood why there was so much premier league interest with so many teams above us. On that note, I think two of our marquee exports could be in for a spell on the bench. I see West Ham brought a right back in on deadline day and I can't see cook getting in ahead of Wilshere. Probably more of a concern for byram as I still think cook will develop into a very good player.
you say the same every season, going down at the start then mid table and claim you were right, when in fact you get it wrong every time as we stay up.When you have lots of new players they take a while to gel,you would think you might have realised how football works by now,but maybe not.
