Just watched it. Yeah, a really nice film. Don't get so caught up in life as to forget the adventure. It's something I do occasionally remind myself about if I start becoming a little conventional.
5 GB players make it through to the second round of the US open, not including doubles players. Interesting one today is Edmond playing a US qualifier at 16.00 hr today....he was brilliant when he put out the number 13 seed. Be interesting to see if he can do it again.
Coronation Street have had to apologise for a 'racist' joke. A character wanting her hair dyed said, 'I have more roots than Kunta Kinte.' For those who don't know, he was a real life character in a book about a man discovering his roots in Africa as his ancestors had been taken as slaves to America. I do not see how this is racist at all....there is no derogatory implication aimed at a person of a particular race. It is a play on words. It seems you can say nothing about any non-white person without being assumed you are taking a dig. Get a life!
I would have loved it if she did assault him. She would have got done by the law, and Vine would have got a thump for being an antagonising prick.
*Sigh* Need to find £4k down the back of the sofa in order to get the new EP recorded and released. Anyone have any clever ideas other than crowdfunding?!
Konta looked as if she would sail through but now in terrible distress with the heat. Collapsed on court.
Anybody else watched All Board The Country Bus.? Comes under the category of Slow TV, this was an innovative piece of TV. It dared to present you with a coach journey through the Yorkshire Dales in real time. The programme lasted two hours, same as the journey. I thought it was brave at the time, and I still do having got off the bus after 48 minutes [I'll get back on, via the iPlayer]. But it was rather soothing, serene, and the view was very nice indeed. I thought it might be niche viewing, even for BBC4, but 1 million viewers tuned in. That's amazing.
Konta back on court after ice treatment. Can't believe you can play after being unable to breathe. Delivers a foul serve giving set to opponent. Now she can leave the court.
I saw something similar in Tunisia....but hours of desert is totally boring. The Dales would be restful.
Konta now 2-0 in final set....feel for opponent...she had to watch Konta collapse in front of her, have emergency treatment, then wait while Konta went off for assessment. Pironkova had to just twiddle her thumbs on court.
Bake Off is great. "Your sister tasted great" "who's up for a bit of carpet" Mary: "I'm up for some carpet" 'We didn't think you could finish. You've had trouble finishing in the past.' Lol
Yes, the subject has to be right. Apparently the BBC did a similar thing on a canal boat last year. I didn't see it but it was hugely popular, so I'm told.
