Well not really...nearly all have improved their 1st eleven. Blatantly obvious we haven't.
Like I said if we'd signed a CF I'd be a lot more happier. Bony was someone I was hoping we would show an interest in, just can't believe anyone thinks our current forwards are good enough for us to improve.

Two teams got absolute steals this summer! Tottenham bought a superb Kenyan guy in the cheap, and Liverpool bought a world class forward/winger with Premier experience for a song!

Why aren't we shopping where these guys are?

Clasie, JWP, Davies, Tadic as a group are not physical enough for Premier League

    Agreed.

Unfortunately those other sides aren't having to juggle EL football in between their PL games, and (in most cases) aren't trying to bed in a new manager and new formation, and aren't trying to 'defend' three consecutive top eight finishes, and aren't yet again trying to find a way to keep their best players from deserting them at the end of the season.

    Ambition .

    Fair enough .

We are a mid level PL team at best On a regular basis , with the occasional trip into the top 6 or so ..

I do NOT want the owner to risk our future by paying stupid money .

We are , and always have been , a selling club .

We don't & never will have the fan base for a larger stadium .

The occasional trip to Europe is the best we can hope for .

    And a 40 + Thousand Stadium filled regularly ?

    Don't make me laugh .

    Anyway .

    **** football , back to F1 !

If we weren't in the Europa league I'd say I was satisfied with the window, but this was really our chance to kick on and strengthen rather than replace. We've got it right so far, yes, which is why I'm not going to be throwing tantrums or taking the pitchfork to St Mary's. But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't slightly disappointed.

We'll be fine, we'll survive, we'll probably be top 10, but we could've kicked on. I am aware spending big doesn't guarantee this, but I don't think anyone can argue that our squad can handle all the competitions going into this season, with a realistic view of being top 6, or even 8, again.

If we do take a substantial step back, it'll be interesting to see what we do in January and the summer of 2017. The worst spending decisions seem to happen in the lower mid-table, when you're not that alluring for foreign talent and not wholly safe from relegation.

Regarding kicking on, I don't think a push for Europe next year was ever on the cards. We'll set aside a good amount of money this year, and then all will be made known in twelve months.

That's what's annoying though, this is probably the most attractive we'll ever be as a club.

I'm not saying were doomed and I'm all for seeing how it goes, I'm just slightly disheartened at the moment.

Players don't boo though. Fans (well, not real fans imo) do that and it affects the players.

The players are pros. Some of our fans are arseholes, frankly. Hopefully a good run of results will shut the neg heads up sharpish.

If Virgil & Ryan & Fras aren't on board, then we will find real problems. Fans discontent is just normal when transitioning a new style. Were I them, I'd be asking a few questions.
