Really?!? Ruddy is broken and I sincerely hope that he never need play for us again. I can't remember his last good game. He can't kick for toffee, rarely seems to make anything above routine saves and doesn't seem to have any command of his area or be good on crosses.
He is experienced and as a back up he's OK for us, but a PL side should want better.

That said as we'd need to replace him and the way the market has gone bonkers, we should try to get at least £3M probably more.

Sunderland have entered talks with Norwich City's John Ruddy, according to a report from the Eastern Daily Press.

I would settle for that, given how poor he has been in the last 2 and a bit seasons

 

I'd be comfortable if we paid that, tbh. It's not a lot in todays market, and he will be a decent experienced, back up keeper...

 

Why would we sell Ruddy without buying another keeper ? Doesn't make sense to me.

Maybe a change of manager would improve his performances !!! One of many of our players that have play well short of their best under AN.

 

If I remember rightly, shortly before his injury, £6m or so was thought to be about right when the likes of Chelsea were thought to be after him. At that time we never wanted to lose him so I think that fact that most on here feel it wont be a loss now should perhaps have some alarm bells ringing for you. I think even as back player (should he get a run of games) he is likely to cost points with silly mistakes, poor positioning and clumsy handling - not to mention his woeful kicking.

 

I think we could find a more reliable keeper for less than half the cost.
