I heard his contract is up in the Summer anyway so we won't see him again.

 

If his contract is up in the Summer I cant believe even Ashley could con them into an option to buy! More likely its a loan with an option to dispose of in an environmentally friendly manner.

 

Club site says there is an option to buy so he must have at least another season after this one.

FFS. Apparently the deal has fallen through.

Despite having plenty of time and space, Riviere fell over at the vital moment and his signature missed the official contract documentation. By the time he got off the floor the deadline was up. So officially he never signed in time.

 

I can imagine him tripping up with the pen in his hand and accidentally signing the contract with a long pen stroke across the page.

 

However scored on his debut!

 

He'll be back next season.."like a new signing", same for De Jong. Man...didnt we accumulate quite a few stinkers over the last 5 years. Stinkers n permacrocks, some of them covering both roles. I mean de Jong, Haidara.. even if you wanted to see some potential in them inbetween injuries, they kinda just suck.
