My personal choice would be to keep Turnbull. On the rare times he's played. he seems to be more commanding in the area and his distribution is better than Silvestre, he doesn't seem to have a mistake in him that Green does.
I know what you mean Eire, I was just trying to be humourous. That prat on Sky does my nut in, the Jim lad....
I can see the bizarre logic that Monk is sticking with, with Green. He signs Green and tell Silvestri to go do one. He can't turn round to Silvestri four weeks later and say 'oh sorry mate all forgiven have your No1 shirt back
Wa hey...it's the you tell em Elland.......morning all by the way. I probably have to agree with Eire regarding the transfer window. I hope I'm wrong and we do get some players in and shift some of the crap. But I won't hold my breath. Taylor can go now if we can get the fee up a bit, we'll be losing him next summer anyway and we'll have to rely on some ****ty tribunal to fix the price. The Duke is another one who can go.
Well if had a backbone he could, keep Silvestre, play Turnbull and get rid of Green. I realise that won't happen, but I can dream..
We have no threat in the air or at set pieces with Wood anyway. The Duke heads the ball better than Wood imo.
A question for you all. Who realistically thinks theres a quality striker out there available to us for 1m and prob 10k a week or perhaps a club desperately trying to loan out a 20 goal a season striker on transfer deadline day to us? One who is 6ft 3", great feet, great header of the ball as well. Dont all shout at once
Plan A: Bamba as captain - not worked. Grimes to replace Cook - not worked. Hernandez to supply some class - will deffo be a good move. Bartley to shore up the back - working well, Antonnson to score - will work Roofe to supply and score - will work Mowatt to step up - not working Jannson to shore up - will be a a huge signing Taylor to be consistent - working Wood to score regular - needs more Viera to step up - not consistent and lacks experience Phillips to step up - not consistent and lacks experience Plan A is only half working and it seems that the players holding us back are not Monks signings in the main. If those under performing players dont start contributing we will finish mid table
That's one of the Dukes many weaknesses IMO, he can't head the ball at all, for the size of the man he doesn't use that to his advantage at all. Wood at least gets his head to the ball, granted it doesn't always go where he wants it to.
Not a chance for that money when the likes of Rhodes, Macwages etc are £12m. The best we can do is either pick up a non league potential superstar. Or invest in a loan move for a big player who will not feature much in the prem Nugent Lambert Crouch
I don't think that's a major problem Eire, I think we need to shore up our defence and strenghten midfield first, once we stop conceding goals, then it may take the pressure off our forwards, who might start scoring more...
Crouch yes,the others no,have you seen Lambert recent goal scoring record ? way past it I'm afraid. App. (sub) League Cup Games FA Cup Goals 24(15) 19 2 3 1 goal n 24 games,no thanks
