Pardew is a puppet. He has lied before, will lie again, is lying right now on TV.

What he said sounds great, but we've seen and heard it all before.

I still expect Barton to leave, as well as Jose.

Just my thoughts, some will be too blind to see that he isn't telling the truth, fair enough because that's what you want to hear.

Pardew isn't a liar, he's just a weak puppet. He doesn't have the balls to question the club about anything, and is told a load of **** from Ashley.

Boring. If he raised hell at every decision Ashley and Llambias made he'd be sacked, so he keeps his mouth shut. And the first thing he did when he joined the club was get Steven Taylor on a long term deal on high wages, when the board had transfer listed him. Give the guy credit, he's working for the most impossible chairmen in the world.

Don't trust a word coming out the club, convinced that the manager and coaches get told what to say by the club. think Pardew will walk within the next month.

I can see this situation turning out the same as Saylor's did.

What makes a puppet.....? Someone who does as he is told from who is technically his boss? Good, I'd be a hell of a lot more worried if we had a manager who went against the wishes of the Board and questioned everything publicly!
Someone who doesn't stand up to MA? This is pure speculation, for all we know he could be standing up to MA and DL in the background but remember Pardew is the face of the club.... It's him who speaks to the media and him who hsa to answer all the tough questions about what's going on and he has a choice, either answer them as honestly as he can without getting hopes up and without saying anything is a certainty (which I think he is doing) or go on a rant about how the Board is undermining him etc etc and probably get fired.

If he was a puppet, he wouldn't be wrong all the time. It's not a ****ing Hans Christian Anderson book with Ashley the big bad wolf trying to destroy NUFC, it's real life.

Pardew is gobshite he thinks without speaking, and then he gets told how it really is afterwards, doesn't make him a puppet at all though. I think the subtext of the interview was Ashley, spend some money and Joey say you're sorry. He also didn't say he expects Enrique to stay, just that there are no bids yet, which shuts the press up a bit. I think Jose will go, and there's every chance Barton will get sold if Ashley decides, but at least Pardew is putting his neck on the line to some degree, because chances are he'll be proved wrong when Ashley undermines him.

Everyone calls Pardew et al puppets of Ashley but what would you like him to come out and say. I'm trying to get more players in but you know the boss is a complete bastard so I probably won't get anything? - thanks for being honest Alan, good luck at the next place. He's got to use the media as well, a public statement of what he wants puts more pressure on Ashley and Co, it might not work but he's not the one with the money.

I should try that, look guys I'm just being honest here but my boss is a ****ing arse and I wish he'd piss off, he won't even buy a new kettle - **** YOU BOSS!

Exactly! Doesnt matter who the manager is, if he badmouthed and disagreed with Ashley and co, he'd be sacked by the end of the press conference.

Keep waiting for Brian Connolly to appear from under Pardews chair when he is getting a bit grief off the reporters ...shouting "its a puppet"

I wish!

I do think his comments are extremely pre-emptive, but at least he communicates and there's stuff to speculate about. Nothing is certain so if we only talked about what is certain there'd be nothing to talk about!

Amen to that

I'm not criticising Pardew personally, it's probably not his fault but people get hyped up on what he says when in reality, he hasn't got a ****ing clue.

Pardew knew what he was taking on when he took the job, a prick of an owner. He knew he would become the puppet but it looks good on his CV if he has relevant success at NUFC.
