    Must. Use. Emojis.

Either that or create a sarcasm font

All new players very gratefully received (particularly if their name rhymes with Wiltshire)

Doesn't sound like a black box signing, more like a slow start to the season signing.

Can we seriously stop with this trite positive/negative nonsense? Ye gods, it's surely possible to actually discuss what a player can and cannot do well without it turning into an endless series of posts on how we're Just Not Positive Enough. In addition to his strengths, I seem to remember you having some comments on what said lump from Feyernoord did not do particularly well, FLT.

Go back a few weeks in the transfer thread, and when Bas Dost was heavily rumoured, you'll see that I suggested another big striker as perhaps a better option...Sebastien Haller. So I don't hate him, even if he isn't my ideal.

I know nothing about this player but I really hope we don't loan out Jay just to accommodate him. That is nothing against Haller but more that I want Jay to be given a chance with us. I really disagree with loaning him to another Premier League club if he really has to go. I don't want to see him rescuing WBA or Hull from defeat.

Yep, just shoe horning another striker into a misfiring system will not help. Not a dig a Hal at all.

Sorry saintly, that's actually negative spin. The downwards arrow with the 4 next to it clearly implies that at some point in the past he was actually even higher ranked in whatever crazy system they're rating players with!! <laugh>

Schad, that seems a dig at me. Thanks

If you paid any attention, you'd read that I was balanced on Pelle. I always stated his value while critiquing him. That's how I think it should be done. It is possible to see both views. I think he gave us lots but should have given us more.

I find your post distasteful because it calls for an end of the negative/positive posts shot but only digs at me or those saying things aren't positive enough. You then go on to point out my negative posts about Pelle after digging me for being to be more positive. Contradictory! Just because I have the sense and ability to consider both sides. Perhaps you don't think someone can see both!

A discussion involves both sides being looked at so if I see one I think wrongly negative, I'll counter it. What the **** is wrong with that?

Your post has really pissed me off. I won't say anymore because it'll get rude.

No, it's a reminder that a person can be critical of an element of a player's game without 'being negative', and I used you as an example because few around here consider you overly negative. I never thought that you were being reflexively negative about Pelle, but rather that you understood that he had flaws that ultimately limited his productivity.

That's what pisses me off about these discussions. You got your back up when people dug at you for 'moaning at Pelle', and rightfully so; the things you critiqued were perfectly valid. Yet here we are; every thread turns into a meta-discussion of whether a critique is too negative, which leaves very little actual discussion of the players themselves, or our system, or anything genuinely football-related. "I think he has X or Y about him" is a counter; "stop moaning" in response to a football-based critique isn't. Can we get back to the former?
