Nice one mate. I look forward to doing the Transfer Deadline Day thing tomorrow as no work for a week!
QPR SIGN STRIKER IDRISSA SYLLA www.qpr.co.uk, QPR boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink expressed his delight at securing the signature of the Guinean international, commenting: “This is very good business for the club. “Everyone knows we were looking for another number nine. This was not easy to find, but we are very happy to find this boy and do this business. “He is very good in the air, and scores quite a lot of goals with his head. He is technically very good, and we feel he will add to the squad. “We also feel there is a lot of improvement in him. He can get better and stronger. “I see him as an out-and-out striker. He is going to come in and fight against Sebastian Polter and Conor Washington. “I am thankful for the work that has been done behind the scenes. Les has done a lot of work here, and the owners have supported us. Now the hard work starts to try to get him ready as quickly as possible for the pace of the Championship.” Sylla, who has made more than 20 appearances for his country, is looking forward to plying his trade for QPR in the Championship and has welcomed a move to England. image: http://www.qpr.co.uk/cms_images/player/idrissa-sylla-signs-61364-3280088.jpg please log in to view this image WELCOME: Idrissa Sylla and Director of Football Les Ferdinand “This is a very exciting move for me,” he said. “I have always dreamt about playing football in England and the opportunity to join QPR was something that really appealed to me. “Les (Ferdinand) and Jimmy (Floyd Hasselbaink) both made me feel really wanted and I had a good feeling about QPR from the moment I heard about their interest in me. “I am pleased to be here and can’t wait to get started.” Sylla will wear the number 40 shirt at Loftus Road. I hope so Col. I really hope we have unearthed a gem. The good thing about this signing is it came out of the blue which hopefully means they did their homework.
I like the way the club are doing business........looking at players who'll fit in, no egos, all want to play for the club and are in the age bracket where they can improve themselves by being with us........
I like the part where JFH says he sees him purely as a striker. I also like it when the new signings talk about being impressed with Les and Jimmy. It implies that they're getting players to buy into the club's philosophy (whatever that is - presumably work your arse off and we'll make you better).
The goal montage the club put up suggests he knows where the goal is. Quite a lot of tap-ins, which makes me hope that he gets the service into the box and to his feet. We're going to need some widemen that can deliver a ball.
Lots of good striker goals on that film on the Official, though I don't think he will have so much space and time in the Championship. That long neck will nick a few...Good luck Sylla!
I has never heard of him and that is a very good start! It could be a good signing. With Polter and Sylla, we may have a front line that could give nightmares and hopefully strike terror to opponents' central defenders. I look forward to seeing how he will play.
