Just checked and its 235 from mine to my grandparent's house. 2 and a quarter hours is bloody good. Never done it that fast.
That was an absolute one-off, about 10 years ago. We left around 8:30 and pulled in to the Riverside 15 minutes before the cricket started. We were up for a funeral on Thursday. 3 hours to the Ramside Hotel. Those roads just get busier and busier mate.
3hrs would be a good run for me but then I'm usually travelling with kids so have to stop and I have to go a bit further on to get to where my folks live. Roads do get busier but the A1 improvements have made a big difference!
