You're doing nothing to help him look like he can think for himself. :emoticon-0136-giggl

He asked a question or two, I answered them. It's a discussion, not a competition.

I can only think you try and make every discussion into a battle in the desperate hope that the law of averages applies, and eventually, you'll win one. It's tedious as **** though.

What? Your arguments make less sense the more you post. People post facts to you. Or point out the flaws in your argument - sometimes glaring holes, and you come back with the above?!?

I give you my own opinions, I then point out the flaws in your own arguments. That's called thinking for myself! <doh>

Yes. I've yet to see anyone point at a flaw in the argument so far it's just the usual suspects tediously trying to is misrepresent it.

Well you can lead a horse to water.

My point [that you spectacularly missed] in listing everyone who has been engaging in this discussion is that 8 out of 10 of the posters who are engaged in the discussion can see the flaw in your argument and have pointed it out to you. They have not misrepresented it. They have just quoted you.

Nice nap? I just assumed you'd reread your posts. <ok>

Good to see you back to the personal abuse. It still doesn't work. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

The death penalty for the worse of the worse is a great idea, providing there's no doubt. Why waste resources letting them live?

Post your own views, appeals to the gallery are doomed to failure and a sign you're uncertain of yourself. Get some confidence. <ok>

The 'insults' certainly don't. They're just a sign that you're out of your depth again.

Why not try discussing instead of challenging? It's got to work better for your self esteem.

Why give them an easy option rather than a lifetime of being targeted in prison? What if they've been framed by police? Not inconceivable.

Stop patronising him in an attempt to make him disappear. They are his views, many others happen to share them with him.

On the one hand you say it's not a competition on the other hand you are clearly trying to out psyche him. We are all a bit long in the tooth and can see it a mile off.

Even you know what your doing.

I prefer open abuse to the sly attempts.

Who died and left you in charge?

Is he the pet waif and stray you all defend? All he's done is try to hide behind others, If he has an opinion he should spit it out, not try weakly hiding behind you and others.

I stated mine clearly, despite others trying to spin it. If they then choose to drop it to some sort of challenge or personal level, I'll oblige, but I prefer discussing.

It's why I left the door wide open for others to post numbers to show my claim is wrong.

Because the death penalty costs more, so it actually wastes more resources, for a start.
    I've already gone over this, haven't I?

How can you ever have no doubt about a conviction, anyway?
If anything will put you off holding this opinion, you're sounding a lot like Priti Patel:

The cost tends to be due to the appeal procedure to make sure it's the right verdict.

We spend a fortune looking after the health and well being of prisoners, and can't give some innocent people treatment because of the cost involved, or pensioners get hyperthermia through fuel starvation .

    One life's too many.
